Is it impossible to reverse swing the ball in Test matches with the COVID-19 protocols in place?

I am pretty sure that Waqar might have used this as an excuse to justify the poor performance of the bowlers under his watch. Tbh one of the things which has really shocked me is that none of our bowlers have been able to reverse swing the ball in either England or New Zealand. Even against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh back home we prepared seaming tracks and the bowlers were getting conventional swing at best.

Are all teams around the world struggling with getting reverse swing given that you can't apply any saliva on the ball right now?

Australia was getting some reverse against India. So maybe impossible only for us

It's definitely not impossible. There was next to no chance of reverse swing on those NZ pitches though. By the time the 2nd new ball would be available, the first one had hardly scuffed up

NZ fields are not abrasive so there is less chance of reverse

As others said,it happened in Aus

You need to keep one side rough or heavier and the other side shiny/clean. Although use of saliva has been prohibited but taking care of the ball is a different art. You can teach the fielders to only throw the ball facing one side on the ground while during regulations throw or while they're throwing it to the keeper.

It will come into play on the grounds of UAE, India and SL(if tests go till the final day), late English pitches, and in Pakistan as well.
