Is it mandatory to award Player of the Match awards?

For example in a game like this with essentially a 2 days worth of play there really wasn’t a need to award one

I think MOTM award is fine if there is at least a day's worth of play (at least 80 overs).

In this match case should have been a player of the day award.

Even though they aren't players, I would award it jointly to all the ground staff and umpires. They have done a fantastic job.
