I personally don't see the issue with this, most countries around the world have taxation treaties i.e. Canada-USA, USA-UK, Canada-UK e.t.c. and these treaties are designed to prevent double taxation and to give you a foreign tax credit.

Besides, this will also be a good way for overseas Pakistani's to pay some taxes to the Pakistani Govt in addition to the record remmittances they send.

The only fear and problem is the corruption in the FBR and Overseas Pakistani's could face harrassment by corrupt tax officials in FBR. But i anticipate that most overseas Pakistani's will enjoy a foreign tax credit and if they owe some taxes in Pakistan, it should not be unaffordable for those earning in Dollars and Pounds.

But if this is the price to pay in exchange for obtaining Overseas Voting Rights in Pakistani Elections, i am all for it.

Overall a win win situation for everyone.

This would be fine for the Western based Pakistanis. However for the ones in the Middle East they should get voting rights regardless. Those people are not dual citizens and will have to eventually come back to Pakistan. However in many cases its not practical to come just for the election.

Surely the embassies or a reputed third party agency can collect overseas votes from overseas Pakistani's in their respective resident countries.

Yea that could work. I meant not practical to fly back to Pakistan just to vote. Too expensive for alot of people.

Good.

Go on iris website right now and file them. Thr whole process is online

Overseas Pakistanis may consider the notion of paying taxes in exchange for voting in Pakistan but first 95% of the indigenous Pakistanis should pay tax and instead of wallowing and weeping when us overseas fund their lifestyle and existence.
