A new rift between Muhammad Hafeez and PCB officials!

CEO Wasim Khan and Director International Zakir Khan denied Mohammad Hafeez request to play full CPL tournament but he was told to follow board decision.

Muhammad Hafeez was allowed to participate in CPL till 18 September but now he is asked to come back on 12 September.

On the Other hand PCB has given permission to Imad Wasim to stay in the West Indies.

Hafeez might do a press conferance in coming days. It is being reported that he made a statement that he will for Pakistan if respect is given, otherwise he wont play if he jsnt given the required respect

According to reports:

Hafeez said board has been unfair to him for the last two years and he has been putting up with them. But now he wont take it anymore.

He is enroute to pakistan through heathrow i guess... He is coming back.

PCB is a joke.

Ask Wasim Khan why Hafeez was called back but Imad Wasim was allowed to stay longer and he’ll have a very hard time answering that.

Imad Wasim seems to be getting a lot of special treatment, does he have a connection within the PCB?

How come Imad Wasim was allowed to play in the Big Bash League over the domestic season? If it was any other player then they wouldn’t have been given an NOC.

I also don’t understand why Hafeez is risking his international career AND at the same time risking a future contract with CPL.
 
Pyaan Hafeez needs to cool it, his form has been bad don’t say anything you’ll regret.
 
Hafeez is not in ODI squad nor is Azam Khan. I don’t know why are they asked to return from CPL
 
Why is he anywhere near the PK team after a decade of failings. At the 1st sign of pressure the guy is like an ice lolly in the Sahara
 
Personally I think none of Pak’s big guns should be playing this series

But I guess PCB management are in no mood to take risks just like Arteta had to field a full 1st XI against West Brom in the Caraboa cup
 
Just noticed that as well that while everyone else selected in the T20 squad has been called, Imad Wasim is still playing.

Though its not just Hafeez everyone aside from Imad who was selected in the T20 squad has been called back by Sep 12. Not sure why Imad’s case is being handled as an exception in comparison to others. Either ways its not clear what exactly has changed to call all of them back earlier than initially allowed.

Hafeez's bowling is necessary for us. Hopefully he keeps his cool.

Wasim khan is a fool. He has created a mess. He keeps making decisions that make no sense and you got players becoming angry now.

Lesson learned, just because someone is overseas doesnt mean he is capable to perform a job. Imran khan has now destroyed our cricket aswell.

Hopefully, wasim khan is send packing back to UK now. Tired of his mismanagement.

First it was his decisions that caused cricketers to be unemployed, than backtracking from selector and coach being one person, than the resignation of misbah and waqar, than babar azams issue with selection of squad and now this.

Plus the sports broadcasting drama that happened where they sold rights for less and than for this nz series there is no drs thus pakistan winning the series would mean nothing.

The guy needs to be fired.

Whats interesting is that hafeez has reportedly said that he will tell the awam something about wasim and zakir khan.

Interesting days ahead...

He hasnt mentioned rameez yet..

Really? This guy has had 20 years and what has he achieved. The guy wilts under pressure and I am sure if you give any player 20 years they would have achieved more than him

Had this happened the first time, it could had been ignored. It has happened once before.

This time infact the noc was till further date and yet pcb does this.

Hafeez has pointed out that this leaves a bad reputation as hewont get a contract in future if pcb calls him back everytime before schdule date

The guy has had 2 decades to achieve something and I all I hear is excuses from his fans. Look at how he wilts under pressure but then somehow he is back in the reckoning a few months later.
 
I am no fan of Mohammad Hafeez, but recalling him from the CPL after having issued an NOC is highly unprofessional behaviour from the PCB. It's not the first time either with Hafeez.

You have heard one side of the story, why not wait until PCB give theirs. For me the guy should have gone after the 2011 WC and nothing has justifies his selection for the last decade.

Whether you agree with his selection or not is a seperate thing. Every player could be argued upon that, but the thing is pcb has done this twice that after giving him noc they called him back which is judt wrong.

There isnt any other side. Last time pcb did this, everyone was hushed said nothing, but wasim khan has done it again and its disrespectful whether u are hafeez, asif ali or imran farhat

He played a key role in CT17, and I haven’t checked the stats but he was probably our best batsman from 2017-20.

No, he doesn’t wilt under pressure, he was just played in the wrong position for most of his career and that was his own fault.
 
I guess Hafeez's grievance is that he has been recalled but Imad hasn't, when neither are in the ODI squad and only in the T20I squad.
 
Hafeez probably also wanted to train his power hitting in west indies
 
Hafeez like a year ago said My 9 year old son has more understanding of cricket than Rameez bhai. Wonder if that statement has anything to do with it.

The PCBs position is that Imad was also originally asked to report to the PCB on Aug 12 along with Hafeez but his franchise made a last minute plea and request for permission from the PCB to allow Imad to stay till August 16. Hafeez franchise made no such plea or request in comparison

But when push came to shove it was FZ that came up with the goods. In the 2019 WC the guy failed under pressure and that is the story of his career. He should have played in the 2019 WC and then sacked. As far as wrong position, he has batted in all positions but without much success.

I need to hear both sides of the story, sometimes we jump to conclusions by hearing just the one side. Remember the Afgh Ambassadors daughter and her story

Pretty senseless for Pakistan to recall Hafeez while letting Imad play a bit longer but my god, the clownish drama from this guy. It's literally a week early, chill. How about actually doing everything to make sure you're ready for UAE pitches and since you are the senior and have played countless games, how about helping your fellow teammates to make sure they are prepared for it.

He should practice his bowling as well to be certain it is 100% ready to contribute. It's always nonsense from these old guys who have played through Pakistan's toxic entitled culture of 90's & 2000's.

Maybe Hafeez should have pushed his Franchise to go out of the way to press the PCB to delay his departure to Sept 18. In Imad Wasim's case, the Franchise got in touch with the PCB and pleaded with them to allow him to stay with them till Sept 18 whereas Hafeez's franchise was not desperate to keep him, it was only Hafeez who was pleading with the PCB to let him stay in the CPL till Sept 18.
 
Veteran Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal has made a shocking claim regarding Mohammad Hafeez's future ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE this year. Akmal claimed Hafeez is very upset with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and might announce retirement from international cricket ahead of the T20 World Cup that gets underway next month.

Hafeez is reportedly unhappy over being asked to return early from the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) despite being granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in the league till September 18. Hafeez is currently playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the ongoing CPL 2021.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Akmal slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for unfair treatment of a senior player like Hafeez and said the senior all-rounder is totally frustrated with the PCB.

“I haven’t spoken to Mohammad Hafeez but I think he is very upset and might not play the T20 World Cup. Unless the PCB pampers him, he could announce his retirement before the World Cup. He seems totally frustrated. You cannot treat an experienced player in such a manner," said Akmal in a video.

Hafeez had been granted NOC to take part in the ongoing edition of the Caribbean Premier League till September 18. However, PCB recalled the senior all-rounder on September 16 for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. Hafeez's request to delay his arrival for a couple of days was also turned down by the board, leaving the cricketer miffed.

“This is wrong. And I am talking not only about Hafeez but about Pakistan cricket as whole. It harms the reputation of our country as a cricketing nation. This has happened with me as well. What has happened with Hafeez is totally wrong. You have given the NOC. Think about how expensive the flights are due to COVID, then they have to stay in bio-bubbles as well," Akmal said slamming PCB.

If Hafeez wanted to retire before the WT20 then he wouldn’t have left the Caribbean🤦🏻*♂️

Also, correct me if I’m wrong but Hafeez isn’t under a contract with PCB so I’m pretty sure he doesn’t require an NOC.

going to stop especially if your a non performing senior like Hafeez.

Hafeez not going to the World Cup would be great for Pak, so I would be delighted if he announces his retirement.

His record over 5 t20 world cups is so poor, that he does not even deserve another World Cup anyway . His form over the last 10 matches is typical of Hafeez .

Inconsistent , mentally weak and a bottler.

Hafeez…broke?🤣 doesn’t he have his own real estate business? If he was so broke he’d be begging for a central contract with the PCB but instead he refused a contract.


Let’s forget about the names, do you think it’s fair if player X gets told to come back early and player Y gets to stay longer even though both were picked for the same format? Let’s also not forget that PCB had told them they could stay until the 18th, and to call one of them back 7 days earlier is a joke and lacks professionalism from PCB’s side. Let’s also not forget that this isn’t the first time PCB has done this with Hafeez.

Imad's franchise specially requested the PCB to allow him to stay till the end of the CPL. In comparison Hafeez's franchise did not make any such request, it was Hafeez who requested permission from the PCB and the PCB denied him permission. These are two different circumstances. Maybe Hafeez should blame his own franchise for not going out of their way to request the PCB to allow him a few extra days in the CPL
 
Hafeez isn't even part of the ODI setup, so why recall him.

As for what Kami has said, I don't mind if he wants to retire before the tournament, his bowling will evidently get banned whereas his batting in the UAE has been torrid.

So, PCB will listen to foreign T20 franchises but not their own players?

If you were told as a player that you can play until a certain date but were then told to come back earlier, you’d be pretty p’d off, no? Hafeez and Imad both had an agreement to play until 18th, one was called back early and the other one was allowed to stay (idc what the franchise said), PCB should’ve stayed true to their agreement but they didn’t, so can’t blame Hafeez.

Why did PCB deny Hafeez permission? Both Imad and Hafeez were picked for the same format and if Hafeez was needed back so urgently then surely Imad would also be needed as much as Hafeez? If PCB really needed Hafeez back then it would’ve been the same case for Imad Wasim too regardless of what his franchise demanded, wouldn’t you agree?

I agree the PCB should have allowed Hafeez to finish the CPL but legally they are covered if Imad's Franchise made them a special request but not Hafeez's franchise. What should have happened is a different issue but if Hafeez was smart he should have requested his Franchise to get involved and press the PCB to let him stay on.

How do we know if Guyana did or didn’t request PCB to keep Hafeez till 18th? Given how hard it is to bring in overseas replacements due to COVID, I’m sure Guyana would’ve done a lot of begging to keep Hafeez.
 
I want hafeez to leave PCT alone as much as the next guy, but you cannot backout from your word. You also cannot have one rule for one person and different for another.

PCB in the wrong here

Okay broke is a strong word in isolation. What I meant to say was they are broke relative to other players who are paid handsomely to play IPL.

My issue here is how Hafeez has handled the situation, as he has made so much drama out of this, it's embarrassing to see our players fuming over a few thousand bucks.

He could have politely enquired to the PCB to ask why Imad wasn't recalled with him and kept it in house but no as always he has to make a scene.

Unprofessional from PCB. He is neither centrally contracted nor in the ODI squad for the upcoming series. Should have let him play CPL.

At the end of the day, this will only have a knock on effect. Hafeez won’t be affected as much as the younger Pakistani players would be, who are looking for exposure in foreign T20 leagues. Foreign T20 leagues will be hesitant to pick Pakistani players in the future if the PCB continues to do what it’s doing.

Pakistani players need a cricketers association, someone that represents all of the Pakistani players, someone that can keep the PCB in it’s lane.
 
Not sure why he isn't allowed to play in the PSL til the 18th as he isn't part of the odi squad.
