He is officially 28 now, his real age could be 30-31. He definetly has lost pace and venom in his bowling. Also the swing and sideways movement he gets nowadays is nothing extraordinary.

With fresh teenage sensations coming up on the horizon is it time to look away from Amir and start giving these youngsters more chances as they are hungry to succeed and improve.

Amir's best years are behind him now, and frankly i dont see him doing anything special in the next few years.

He was our best bowler in CWC19. He's crucial player for our T20 squad. I would take him to the world cup 2020.

He should be selected in the t20 world cup. Very intelligent bowler, he will help the youngsters around him.

He's a must with the new ball.

You can't underestimate experience especially when it comes to ICC tournaments.

Yes, look to invest in youngsters who will serve the nation for years ahead rather than frauds

Same thing was said about him before WC. He proved all his doubters wrong. He is a big tournament performer. Should be picked without thinking twice. :inti

Very good LO player particularly in ICC tournaments but has no legacy in test cricket.

What proof have you got that he is 31?.I saw him play when he was a kid.The five year ban more or less finished him.Five years is a very long time in sports. The age is not the issue.

still a gun odi player. gun t29 player.

test is zero though. test is what matters to become a legend.

if he wins pakistan a world cup perhaps that would compensate for his poor test ability.

Even if he is 45, how is it relevant? I'm not his biggest fan these days, I really don't think he's that quick any more, but he is still Pakistan's best pace bowler from what I have seen in the PSL. He has a lot of skill with the new ball, quite clever with his line, and can still produce some really quick deliveries when he wants to.

Not sure this thread is meant to be taken seriously.

He and Shaheen are a must for T20 worldcup, others can be any from among Naseem/Rauf/Dilbar/Akif.

Actually I would pick Akif from Islamabad United, he has good control over his lengths and hopefully evolve into good bowler.

I was bit skeptical before PSL but he has shown he is still good with new ball and is decent at death overs.he is very much needed for limited overs.Him and wahab should definitely be in the squad.

yes agreed. God will make sure we will win the final. We need the phassst bowlers to fire. amir, shaheen and sultan of pakistan aka wahab should all play. The we will the make semis at the very least. Who knows, perhaps we will reverse the result of mohali in t20 format.

He is bowling well in PSL and should be considered for next T20 assignment and will eventually go to World T20 as well.

He won't be dropped anytime soon. But I don't trust him to hang around for long as he showed with his test retirement.

He has clearly planned his career route.

His unhappy marriage with Pakistan national team will end after the 2023 World Cup.

I was surprised to see he was still listed as Left Arm Fast when the graphic came up.

Mohammad Amir is at his best now, he has finally settled down what format he can perform best and he is doing just that. He will be at his peak for at least 5 more years. Afridi and him are two best ones for Pakistan ATM.

Not in ODIs and T20s.

A top bowler in these two formats.

Showed that again this PSL.

Still has good economy and some of wickets he took were just Wow in Psl. So needs to be there

shouldn't Take this thread and some other childish threads seriously
there shouldn't be any doubt who will be our first choice fast bowlers will be for wc
amir
shaheen
naseem
haris

If 10 and 11 are going to be occupied by Naseem and Shaheen then Amir may well be needed for his batting at 9. Pakistan definitely cannot afford to field 3 total tail end batsmen in the world cup.

He's lost a lot of his pace but he is still a smart bowler who is good economy wise so I can't imagine he doesn't continue on ODI's and T20 for a while. Him and Shaheen are essentially locks for the WC.
