Is modern decade cringy/lame compared to previous decades?

I feel like current period in human history is incredibly pathetic. Everything has become lame and inefficient. There is no real standard anymore.

In the past, everything had standards. Things like quality and talent meant something. It is now all about identity politics and political correctness.

What do you think about current period compared to previous decades? How do you think things have gone downhill so much?

Every generation has been cringy to its previous generation. The older generation will find it hard to understand the habits and ways of newer generations. They try hard to impart their ways and rules on to their next generation in the name of preserving culture and values. Its a constant cold fight which will continue forever.

It has brought disasters for societies. It has increased marital problem, relationship problem, rape etc.

I feel social conservatism and fiscal conservatism are essential for a country's long-term growth. Otherwise, you may see a decline like we are seeing in West now.

It increases desire to do bad things. It is common sense which is not very common in today's era.

Its pretty subjective but i will still go with modern compared to old days.
There are some things i miss in old days like clear skies, 24/7 water supply drinkable from tap. Play is large grounds till it gets dark.

However the advantages i have in current times far outweighs times from past.
1. 24/7 power supply was unheard of in previous decades. 4 hours power cut (load shedding ) in middle of June was a scary scenario back in the day.
2. Internet has transformed the education , pretty much every topic has audio visual presentation makes things so easy to grasp.
3. No more long lines to pay bills , far less red tape. Back in the day it use to be hour to wait in line just to pay bill. Computers has made things so much efficient.
4. Watching entertainment , sports is now click of a button. Back in the day (early 80's) television programs were fairly non existent. On weekdays tv can only be seen from 5 pm to 11 on a single channel. When a decent movie came on telly (on Sunday) pretty much whole city got deserted.
5. Transportation has improved greatly. In Delhi , there are alternatives like Metro which reduces travel time by third. Back in the day pretty much everyone had top travel by bus or scooter. Cars were unaffordable by middle class back in the day.
6. Communication - Using Dial up phones were pain also pretty expensive for long distance call. Now mobile phones have made this so much simpler.

Actually it’s a time in our life when everyone is able to afford materialistic goods thanks to quantity, even quality wise they are better compared 1990-2010.

My only issue has been creativity, every country has started looking very similar due to mass production of infrastructure we have amazing functional products but not unique ones which are unique to the culture of the country or their engineering.

Airports and Public infrastructure are looking similar and similar across countries everyday.

Standard for creativity is no longer there. Anything can be an art nowadays just like anyone can be an artist nowadays (no matter how terrible it/he/she is).

I recently saw an "art" that is basically a literal banana taped to a board. They call it "art". Just one example.

You are right and I agree that there are some good things in today's time.

I think in the old days it was much easier to force things in without even the use of force. Pre-internet days there were selective media outlets , so people believed what they either read in newspaper or watching state television. The only way to get outside information was Short Wave Radio.
Culturally things have changed alot. People living in houseful of dozen people are rarely now. Back in the day my Grandfather had 12 children. My parents had 2. I have just 1. This has resulted developing more independent child as there are less adults hovering over them.

Education has made difference , you will rarely find a complete illiterate child nowadays. An educated person is more likely to put up a challenge to old dogmas then blindly follow it.
