Is Pakistan too ethnically divided?.

Balochistan is the most obvious problem facing Pakistan. Considering Pakistan was a 'Land for Muslims (to be safe)", the vastly larger country it seceded from, India, that has so many more distinct ethnicities, has managed to unite under the flag (minority Muslims aside..). Yet the so-called Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been ravaged troubles due to ethnicity.

Instead of trying to absolve Balochistan and appease it, it's focusing vast resources on a corridor...for Indians to visit the country, building the sikhs their own enclave inside Pakistan: a people borne out of anti Muslim sentiment and which had empires subjugating Muslims covering the majority of what became Pakistan.

Is Pakistan too broken to be successful?.

The Balochistan issue stems from the belief among some groups that the region either was, or should have been, an independent country since 1947.

Afghanistan claims that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and parts of Balochistan belong to them. Some people in KPK support these claims, partly because many residents have Afghan roots or migrated from Afghanistan.

The Pakistani army sees its role as defending the country’s territorial integrity, ensuring that KPK does not merge with Afghanistan, Balochistan does not break away, and no part of Pakistan is lost.

These border regions are also where many militant groups originate, carrying out attacks in other parts of Pakistan that harm civilians, the state, and the army.

A major concern is that PTI, for electoral reasons, relies on political support from these anti-state elements and regions. At the same time, India is accused of indirectly supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan, with funds and influence spilling over into KPK against Pakistan, while also directly backing separatist elements in Balochistan.

All of this makes the situation extremely complex and deeply entangled.

pakistan never progresses because it doesnt commit to anything long enough, not a dictatorship, not a democracy, not secular, not a theocracy, not fully corrupted, but not a meritocracy, doing well enough to keep the masses fed but with no hope of any long term development. balochistan is a symptom of a fundamental fear of sticking your flag in the ground and standing for anything, rather than just getting ur payday and moving on.

Truth. Summed up about 500 political threads on Pak in 1 post.

If I am not wrong, no Pakistani PM has ever completed his full term (5 years). I didn't know this until recently. It surprised me.

Too much chopping and changing whether it is in politics, cricket, or something else.

Need to reduce frequent chopping and changing in my opinion. :inti

I have this issue in my personal life. I often start things and do not finish.

Once you start something, you need to finish it. Otherwise, you are back to square one over and over.

To be fair, the one thing Pakistan has stayed committed to throughout it's lifetime is the welfare of the military elite.

Pakistan has elite capture by the Punjabi elite. They want all resource and power concentration in Punjab. This has obviously resulted in issues in Baluchistan and KPK. Sindh is too docile (and under the iron fist of waderas appointed by Punjabi Army). Karachi is capable of opposing the Punjabi hegemony but it has been systematically destroyed and tangled in issues related to water, electricity infrastructure to even think politically.

Are you going to keep pretending it’s working? The only answer is reunification. Period.

Not every nation can be Europe, even Nepal has more than 100 languages.. one ethnicity isn’t possible anymore in nations.

I know you have an issue with Sikhs @SpiritOf1903 .. but nowadays many like Panjabi Pakistanis…

Hopefully we can reunited with Bangladesh and have Muhammad Yunus Sahib rule in an interim capacity.

However reunification with Indians is not possible brother.

Thanks for the offer but India is steadily losing it's secular nature and descending into a Hindu theocratic state thanks to prolonged BJP rule. Pakistan reuniting with India would only make the situation worse.

You've totally missed the pony :facepalm

India with many languages and ethnicities is more united than smaller Pakistan with fewer variations and meant to be united under Islam.

Indian Muslims are close to a genocide in India
