Pakistan thinking it actually has leverage over these tech companies. Apparently pakistan wants these tech companies to hand over people’s private and personal conversations and data even those who have no ill intent but criticize the government or the army for their actions and policies. I know pakistan does not care about real free speech as everyone thinks they are God themselves and judging and acting against those who they don’t think are Muslim or patriots but this takes it to another level. Now even the “good muslim” will be a target for simply questioning or stating an opinion. This is what China does to uygar Muslims . This is also what Iran does to its dissidents. What North Korea does so easily. Instead of being the good ones pakistan seems to on its way to be the baddies

Yeah I'm not a fan of infringing on civil liberties and the government acting as a baby sitter dictating people how to live there lives. Of course if there is information necceasry for national security and public safety then they do something to track and retrieve that data like most countries already do and I'm sure they do that already however banning websites and apps is just plain stupid, the problem is Pakistan is run by old uncles who are out of touch with technology, they didn't grow up with it so don't understand how important it is for business, education, entertainment, socialization etc and what they don't understand is that by banning websites and apps they're discouraging foreign investment into Pakistan, people don't want to invest in a country where their product or service could be banned abruptly at the whims of any government.

Problem with Pakistan is that they is misunderstand their place in the global system, and misunderstand the leverage they have in making tech giants bow down to their demands. Pakistan is not exactly a very attractive prospect for foreign tech firms and MNCs as compared to India. The market is simply not that big. I never said Telugu was a caste or had anything to do with caste, I just pointed out that many Indians I've spoken to have remarked that the IT field is dominated by high caste Indians mainly from the south of India and the language that a lot of the Indian immigrants speak over here is called Telugu.
