He dropped 3 in this innings, and allowed Bundell to score 74 runs.

Missed countless stumpings in the game before.

We used to make fun of Kamran Akmal, but it seems as if Sarfraz Ahmed has gone down the same route.

and he misses another stumping chance, Salman agha could had got a wiceket

His keeping was never world class but it was serviceable until he stopped caring about his fitness. Now he just doesn't have the fitness or reflexes to keep at the international level especially in tests. The only way he can play is as a specialist batsman.

Sarfraz might be worse than even Kamran as a keeper right now. With Pakistan's bowling lineup and extremely flat pitches, we can't afford to have a keeper who lets go of at least 3 chances per inning. And I'm not even counting the missed DRS chances.

Some of his fans like Rana wanted him in the ODIs. He is a rubbish keeper, full stop. Should be nowhere near the team as a WK Batsman

Should stop keeping wickets, his batting would improve a little too if he just focuses on batting moving forward.

Rubbish batsmen rubbish wicketkeeper , past his sell by date don't know why afridi tossed back in a washed up cricketer .

He is getting worse with age Not a good return for him at all.

If you check my recent posts I had already predicted bad news the moment Sarfaraz returned in the playing XI.

You simply cant miss chancss behind the stumps

If a bad keeper makes as many runs as bradman did he still wouldnt make up for all the chances he misses

I think he is just old and his reflexes aren't as good as it used to be. Pakistan picked him as a batter and not as a wicket keeper. When you do that this is what will happen. Safaraz isn't going to keep wickets like he did few years ago.

He has always been an awful keeper but he is still nowhere near Kami level atrocious. Kami's drops evoke PTSD for me as a Pakistan cricket fan. His drops of Hussey in the 2009 Sydney Test, the Ross Taylor drops in the 2011 World Cup. This guy's wicketkeeping ended Shoaib Akthar's career.

Doing better than Kamran

Huge difference. One was a cheat. The other one is simply incompetent.

A superb 100 by Sarfraz his best Innings.

Drops chances. Allows the opposition to score 200 extra runs. Then scores a 50 or a 100 to reduce some of the deficit.

Sarfaraz is still in deficit in the series. We simply cannot afford him to keep the wickets.

He did drop catches but so did Agha and other players.
If it wasn't for his 100 pakistan would have been bowled out by a lunch.

Has cost more runs with his keeping than he has scored.

People use this logic a lot but it doesn’t work like that. You can’t add or subtract runs like this.

Let us be honest if one or two drop catches cost like 200-300 runs then your bowling is pure rubbish.

Sarfraz keeping has deteriorated a lot as he got older, but keepers drop catches all the time, cannot blame drop catches for poor bowling and captaincy that allowed huge amount of extra runs.

Sarfraz is a specialist test batsman Afridi needs to think like that, Sarfraz as specialist batter and Haris as specialist keeper

Sarfraz has the best work ethic and ambition to improve himself in the current team.

He will train and erase out his mistakes very easily.

He will attend Training camp while other players eat biryani and Lahori paye.

Based on your comment, care to explain the tidh (tummy) he has been carrying for last 5-6 years now, even after losing some weight, he still has a pretty big belly for his height. An out of shape keeper will never be good for any team because unless they score 200 runs in each test, they will cost the team much more!

Example is right in front of us in these last two tests, just in the last test he gave Williamson 2 chances at 21 and 27 (that I know off, might be more) and he eventually scored an unbeaten 200!

And it is not like his keeping just got terrible, he has been terrible like this for a long time now!

Yea the man with the belly was the one who hit 4 consecutive 50s including a 4th innings century.

That man has more drive, ambition, and grit than anyone else on the team. Shakeel only had one job. And that was to bat. And he failed spectacularly. An embarrassing 32(146).

Like I said. Sarfraz is head and shoulders above everybody else in skill. He will improve his keeping and make the haters eat their words.

Yeah, same man showed grit, skill and drive by costing us close to 175 runs by giving two chances to Williamson in last test...plus a few to others as well. Same sort of damage was done in this test as well. So much so, he has cost us probably 100-200 more than what he scored in the two tests!

If his drive, ambition, skill etc. (as you state) is so good or great, why is it that his keeping has gotten worse with each game he has played in the last 3-5 years?

Stop making up stuff, I am not wishing he fails or anything but he must improve his keeping and at 34-35, I don't see any chance of that. His best chance is to play as a specialist batsman which I have no issues with in the test side as long as he keeps scoring!

Waqar Younis "Sarfaraz Ahmed has scored 25 off 25 balls with one boundary. A man who comes in at number 6 is supposed to be a finisher with a strike-rate of 150 or 160. Sarfaraz has a strike-rate of 100 today, you aren't going to win games like that"
