Is Shaheen Shah Afridi the most selfish fielder?

Often when you have a low score, the only way you can win the match is by going for difficult catches and diving around to stop boundaries.

Yet, every chance that Harry Brook gave, Shaheen was near it, but he never tried to dive for it or go the extra mile to take a catch or even stop boundaries.

It seems like ever since he got his knee injury, he has stopped trying in the field.

This is really a selfish approach and compare this to how Sena teams are always fielding, throwing themselves around in the field

He is. But today he bowled well, can't complain much.

He bowls 1 great spell then relaxes for 5 matches till he is booted. Maybe he's eyeing captaincy to give his full.
Still, had he fielded well, went for the dive on Brooks we could had won it.

Let’s appreciate his greatness today since it is because of him only that Pakistan got on top of England for a while and had a real chance of winning. Take his opening spell away and it’s a crushing and humiliating loss for men in greens.

Hence today I forgive him for he proved today that he’s a legend and deserves to be the son in law of Shahid Afridi.

I don't really rate him all that much, but he turned up today just like he did against India in the Asia Cup final. Too bad the rest of the bowling attack is rubbish.

No need to read too much with Shaheen's performance today. He was taken to cleaners by Netherlands & India batsman. He bowled better than others today and still Pakistan lost. He is unfit, mentally exhausted, inconsistent.

Disagree - it was very poor batting by England. The first 3 wickets were nothing deliveries. If you bat that poorly you’ll get out to anyone who was bowling. It just happened to be Shaheen

He’s only good for giving the fans dirty looks.

The bowling was ok, nothing special, what he had, he has never recovered or adjusted.

Plays for himself & not the country.

First was a good wicket

Butler was unlucky. Bottom edge.

Third was a poor shot by batsmen.

4th didn't matter..

Shaheen broke his body like twice by fielding recklessly in the past. Pretty costly injuries.
I'd say it's good he has learnt his lesson and is a bit more cautious.

Shaheen anyway is one of the worst fielders around. He seems to have issues seeing the ball under lights too.

Although I am no fan of Shaheen anymore and am disappointed by the loss today, this comment reeks of emotional damage from the loss and perhaps personal dislike for the bowler. Even though Pakistan lost, credit where credit is due. Shaheen's opening spell was nothing short of spectacular. It was a breath of fresh air seeing him not be predictable and bowl with decent pace and movement. They all predicted his full wayward to the leg bowls fetching for that inswing but he had them guessing.

Buttler's bottom edge does not mean the wicket loses value. It was only a matter of time till he got him out anyway. Third shot was a directed bouncer after some fuller deliveries causing Betthel to pull to a fielder set for that shot.

4th wicket while being too late still allowed the game to go into the final over. It also wasn't his fault that all the other bowlers were getting thrashed by Brook up to that point. But I understand the sentiment.

Pakistan still has a legit chance in advancing and if it comes down to nrr which it likely will if they beat SL, then Shaheen will be the reason for it.

100% agree with this.

Shaheen bowled brilliantly today and was by far the best pacer from both sides. He gave Pakistan a real chance of defending a subpar total.

Our fans are just as bad as our players. Both deserve each other.

Agreed.
OP is speaking as if all the wickets in world cricket come from jaffas.

New Dawn?

Congratulations on being sold.

Once your knee goes, your brain never fully trusts it. Very few have ever fully over come a cruciate ligament damage while playing a planting, twisting and pivoting sport

Last guy who didn't miss a beat was Barry sanders. Of course he was a freak of nature
