I will be going to NQ64 which is night out to play retro arcade games and classic consoles.

Im not a big gamer due to lack of time. I always prefered classic arcade games, easy to play with games ending in mins rather than hours.

Some of the games Im looking forward to playing.

1. Double Dragon

2. Golden Axe

3. Mortal Kombat

4. Robocop

5. Tekken

6. Time Crisis

But mostly my all time favourite!

7 Street Fighter II

Imo the best arcade game ever produced , a very simple beat em up. Great characters, excellent music & sounds. I began playing this in the 90's , although it made its debut in 1987. I play with either Ken or Chun Li. Btw Im the best in the world at this game. :virat1

Any fans for these retro arcades and any fans of Street Fighter II?

I would say SF2 is the greatest beat'em up classic of all time!

If pure arcade classic of all time, then for me it is Pac Man.

Caddilacks and Dinosaurs
Final Fight

other than ones that op mentioned above ones i played growing up in India.

I go to arcades sometimes in States below are ones I like:
Donkey Kong
Pac-man

Street Fighter 2 is defn the best.

My favourite was Tekken 3 with Street Fighter a close second. Contra, Cadilacs and Dinosaurs, 8 bit baseball were great too.

After we bought a computer , I loved playing Quake 3, diablo, Brian Lara Cricket 96, NFS 2 SE

Contra - Oh what great memories!

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start!

Yep it is.

I don’t think there was a bad Street Fighter game until Street Fighter V

Played from Street Fighter II - IV. Loved all of them. Especially the Alpha series.

I’m not a big gamer either, except for SF and 1-2 others over my whole life.

My personal favourite is Time Crisis.

Currently, I'm playing Warzone. So damn addicted to it whenever I get time to play.

Definitely the greatest arcade game of all time.
Played countless hours on SNES and arcade during school. Ken or Ryu every time.

Has to be one of its own kind unique characters with their imposter worldwide locations awesome background

Ahhh Golden Axe, Altered Beast, brings back memories of the 80s... Feels so long ago now, really missing those days :(

Metal slug, marvel Vs Street fighter and Vendetta were the go to for me in dingy, tobacco reeking arcades of the 90s/00s

Mortal Kombat for me takes the cake. Spent hours trying to beat Goro. Initial D is another underrated one

Sf2 , mortal kombat 1 and 2 , streets of rage

Reminds of me childhood , wish I could be transported back what good times and life so much more simple.

Hard to pin point greatest arcade game of all.
My favorite arcade game during high school (mid to late 80's) was Pinball Action.
I still sometimes play this game via emulator.

Cadilacks and Dinosaurs you can still play that on your mobile. There are simulators available on Play Store. :inti

Has a good case for being one. I am biased towards Samurai Showdown

With Sagat as my selection on one of those vintage arcade machines, I would say I am international quality player :)

Love playing street fighter/ fatal fury/ Mortal combat/ Samurai showdown on an arcade machine than a console.

I completed it on my laptop 3 years ago.. could never complete it in the arcade(not unlimited lives 😝).
Somehow in the circles i grew up in it was called a mustafa for some random reason.

Yes absolutely! There is genuinley no better game than SF.

The characters, their backgrounds and evem the subsequent movies added to the overall charm of the games.

They were simple, yet addictive.

Street Fighter II
Tekken 3
Time Crisis
Space Invaders
Pac-Man
Tetris

Initial D? like the anime about racing??

Yes it was an arcade racing game based on the manga. One of those that had the ability to save your progress via a card. Was really fun

Same here lol. Our circles weren't different then. :inti

Would add Streets of Rage to the list. There's a mobile version which I've played a lot.

Found Altered Beast very difficult.

Street fighter II and Tekken 3. I spent half of my childhood playing these two games.

I loved Time Crisis but have to admit spent so much time and money but could never complete it! Be honest, did you:?

Golden Axe had some amazing characters/badies. I used to play with the old man with the axe. I found it hillarious when he was riding the dragon.

Time Crisis is extremely difficult to complete. Taking a hit is far easier than clearing a room.

I was only able to get to the latter stages by buying it on PS1 and getting a plug-in light gun, and restarting/hitting continue umpteen times.

This was a truly great classic!

Was it the first ever wrestling game? I hated Hulk Hogan, so played as the Ultimate Warrior or the Big Boss man.

Does anyone remember Pang? One of the most interesting games which required some decent skill. IT took me a couple of years to complete this game.

Haha, can be considered as cheating!

TC was the most accurate shoot em, very difficult as the baddies would come out of nowhere.

The first shoot em up I played was duck hunt on the Nintendo but I think the RSPCA will not allow such a game to be produced now.

Great game, I would put streets of rage up there to imo that was amazing to, there’s a remake I haven’t played yet.

I play the original Tekken sometimes via emulation on my PSP

Streets of rage was a game changer indeed. Loved the violence, pick up a basball bat, metal pole, knee, kicks, punches the lot!

Did you ever play Double Dragon or Dragon Ninja?

1. Renegade
2. Double Dragon
3. Golden Axe
4. Sensible world of soccer
5. Resident evil series

The best thing about Double Dragon is, once you beat the boss, you both have to fight each other for the girl! lol Tip: keep reverse elbowing your friend and take the girl home for a curry.

No it was so hard but I miss playing on the arcade machines, PS1 and on PS2.

They need to bring this game out again. Maybe there should be a story mode an online multiplayer option as well.

That was mad, I liked the music, setting and story. Not played the others which platform were they from ?

There’s also the WWF arcade game that was based of street fighter, am not sure but the developers may have been the same

Not sure , as many arcade games didnt make it to consoles. It may have been produced by Capcom or some company related to it.

I played a boxing game called Ring King on the way to school at a local English cafe. The buttons were hard & needed to be pressed repeatdly when hit. Id often get to school unable to write for a while. The graphics were something like Track & Field with similar method of tapping hard and fast.

There was another arcade game that I briefly played but really used to love it as a kid.

May be some old schoolers remember the name?

It were one or two American soldier type characters that moved from left to right to go thru different hurdles and enemies etc.
One of the soldiers had blond hair n a flat top haircut - I think his name was Bill.
And he had a big gun that would shoot a continuously large string of blazing bullets in multiple directions.

The lead character was Mustafa - the guy wearing the cap. It was hard to say Cadillacs and Dinosaurs , so the name Mustafa stuck

:))) Makes sense, i finished the game with him and didn’t know that was his name , thanks!

The Dwarf in Axe was great, I personally liked the female as her magic was the strongest.

If only the below Golden Axe made its way to the Sega Genesis, it was the greatest Golden Axe of all time:

Wow, thanks, looks great would love to play it.

Im thinking of buying an arcade for the home. Do you know if you can buy a emulator or cartridge with all these classics games?

Yes ! Another classic. Very tough to complete, the jumps make it a tough challenge. Did you manage to complete it?

It was never made available on cartridge what a SHAME!!!!!!!!!!.

I am not sure about emulator, your best bet would be an arcade machine bro....

If you get it, when I visit the UK again in the future, I will definitely be making a trip to your place to play this.. :D
