Is the emphasis on fitness, nutrition the key reason behind India's success in LOIs?

We know how Kohli completely transformed his fitness, training habits and eating habits in 2012 ever since he has not looked back since then.

But I look at the present Indian team and am struggling to see a single player who can be classified as over weight, unfit, lacking stamina.

You can look at their pace bowlers and how they were consistently bowling at 85 mph plus on the tour to England while our pace bowlers slow down dramatically after their first spells.

The impression you get looking at the Indian players in the last few years is that they themselves take personal responsibility for their fitness, training and nutrition habits and don't need someone over seeing them 24/7

I know Mickey Arthur has laid down strong fitness and nutrition standards for the squad but he cannot be with the players 24/7 and they have to take care of themselves in the off season and when they are away from the supervision of the coaching personnel.

While we debate as to why Indian Cricket has over taken Pakistan Cricket in the last couple of years by a huge margin, I believe this is one of the key reasons as well.

Lol what? Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, dhoni look fit to you ? Also im not sure what stamina DK and Rayudu have since they haven't even played a long innings. Our LOI team is in shambles. Our test team and our bowlers in particular have pretty good stamina nowadays though admittedly.

Did you see Jhadav's catch at fine leg in the BAN game? He has really improved his fitness and fielding since his injury. Dhoni is still the second fittest player in the team. And Rayadu looks surprisingly fit too. He is the one who ran Malik out the other day. He looked quick in the field against BAN too. Got another direct hit in even though the batsman was in. Only player who's fitness I am not sure of is DK.

India's fielding standards are higher. It doesn't necessarily have to do with fitness as much as better anticipation, instincts and accuracy while fielding. Even a superior athlete can be poor fielders as a lot of fast bowlers have been over the years.
