Hat-tricks used to be a fantastic occasion because they were spontaneous. Lightening quick or deceptively slow, they used to hammer the stumps setting the stadium ablaze in uproar. But now, when the third ball comes in and hits the pad or is caught behind, the batsman reviews, the audience waits, the spectators wait, and than it's revealed to be OUT. The adrenaline that was pumping for the bowler has cooled off and instead of jumping up and down, he's sipping on his drink in the meantime. A prime example would be the Peter Siddle hat-trick. The DRS has made the hat-trick a tedious and a painful process to watch removing the joy in it for both the bowler and viewer.
