Is this Pakistan's best ever T20I side?

Is the current T20I team Pakistan's best ever?

If Shehzad is expected to be the savior, situation must be desperate then. Batting I can understand, but why bowling was like this - it's not that jet lag or they were playing 1st game; which actually indicates the fear I had, Shinwary & Nawaz are the bowling version of FTB; very good against substandard teams, but found out at higher level.

There is a lot of room for excuses today as far as bowling is concerned. Pretty much everyone has managed to convince themselves that the bowlers would have turned up had the batsmen performed, but the bowling today was as poor as the batting. Australia would have chased 180 today without much fuss.

This team is the definition of garbage. Shehzad doesn't solve any problem in T20s, and while Babar is prolific, he is not a game-changing batsmen. This is not a one-off and this isn't an anomaly - it is a much need reality check for our deluded fans who were thumping their chests and asserting that apart from maybe England, this Pakistan team will start favorites against any team in the world. Nonsense.

One loss in 20 and this team is garbage? Quick to conclusions, my friend. Shehzad and Babar are improvements over Hafeez and Talat who are our immediate concern. Look, if its an anomaly/one off, we will know soon. I think its a one off and you will see how we smash Australia in the next match and win the tri series. You are free to believe whatever you want until then but kindly dont come up with excuses once we win the tri series.

Shehzad is not the savior, he is an improvement over a player who has an average of 11 in t20Is. Bowling was poor because the game was lost in the batting innings. Bowlers could do little to save the match. Nawaz is a fraud, i agree, he never ever impressed or showed a big performance. He is on a proper safarishh.

The likes of Mamoon forget that we got smashed in the first t20I against NZland as well and then we slotted Shehzad into the team and dropped deadwood and managed to win the series.

If you define a team by one loss and ignore their victories, then you know what you are - a biased person.

Improvement, may be though I am not so confident. However, my comment was in reference to your initial post, where it sates ".......Having babar, shehzad back is going to solve two issues .........". Obviously, MoHa isn't working - so that's a crisis and Shehzad is the solution...........

Not an ideal solution but optimal. Shehzad was instrumental in the NZland series.

Easily the best T20 side, when you factor in the fact that one loss is celebrated so keenly by psuedo-Pakistanis and Indians alike

Jeetay raho jawaano :))

Looks like its going to turn out to be a tough night for a lot of people today. :))

Scored 195, posting highest total against Australia. Thats how a champion team responds.

Have you considered that it might be a fluke? :dw

Those people are nowhere to be seen today, but on that certain day they were extremely active around the cricket forums...makes one think :asad2

26-4 against a third string Australia. :)))

The best T20 team in the world ladies and gentleman, and arguably the greatest of all time as some of our friends will tell you.

Medical science has made great progress, but a cure for delusion is yet to be found.

Look man, this is a one off and probably Pakistan is never going to be in a similar situation in the next matches but you really got yourself exposed here. I mean sure you feel "validated" over a single match but your celebration shows that your own ego transcends your wish to see the cricket team prosper. Medical science has made great progress, but a cure for narcissism is yet to be found.

Guess we are going to know the answer very soon. Delusional.

Thats how the world number 1 team responds, dominant performance. Truly deserving of the victory and the title.

Sad day for people who rejoice on the losses of Pakistan Cricket Team.

What a victory! What a slap on the face to all the critics and armchair specialists who said Pakistan became number one through beating "minnows". Pakistan Zindabad! :pkflag

I believe England’s 220 odd is the highest T20 score against Australia back in 2013. I believe it was the same game when Finch scored 156. England were chasing 248 but fell short by about 20 runs.

Also India scored 202 vs Australia in Mohali 2013 - a game which they won by chasing :)

As soon as Pak struggles - hater(s) come running out. In the second T20 vs Scotts - Pak was in a bit of a bother and the hater said Pak deserved humiliation and Pak team gave him a hiding just like today where hater(s) are nowhere to be seen.

Expect them to chest-thump in the next defeat and then disappear in a win and so on. Winning-losing is part of the game. Yes, team has its flaws but we are way better now than we were in a dull Misbah era.

Highest total of Pakistan against Australia. Please re-read my post. Smh.

He and his saffron brothers always go into hiding whenever we win. Otherwise, they will always be here to tell us how we are the worst team and how we deserve to be humiliated.

With so much quality bench strength and a match changing opener like Fakhar Zaman and a proper finsher after Abdul Razzaq in the form of Asif Ali this probably is one of the best T20 sides ever.

Remember we are playing without the no 1 T20 batsman Babar and a bowler who was among the top 3 in T20s Imad Wasim not too long ago. 😛

Not a lot of activity on this thread today I wonder why :afridi

This should be framed in gold. :))

This was a great win.Showed that the previous series wins were not flashes in the pan.

We are the best T20I side currently.

Beating OZ while chasing a big target. Easily the best T20 team we have fielded. Hopefully can carry this form on to the T20 WC.

We have been the best T20I side since Sarfraz took over and its been more than a year!

There is no excuse left anymore to discount the Pakistani team.

While we got a hammering in the first ten overs, the bowling was instrumental in restricting Australia to 183
