2-0 after two matches to a team that were regarded as no-hopers and missing 10 of their main players.

Umar Akmal needs to be shown the exit door...... and then keep the door shut after he leaves

It is. This is Sri Lanka's C team.

Yes.

Little offtopic here... it did wonders for Sri Lanka team though when you give chances to young players, it does wonders for the team. I can bet you most of Sri Lanka players are facing insecurity right now. On the other hands, Pakistan Tean Management is giving easy chance to TTFs to perform against easier opponent and secure their place in the team...

no not really.

its a t20 match at the end of the day.

Had it been an ODI match, than most probably yes. Yes Sri lanka rested its main guys but its not a Hong Kong team. Its still a test member team

The 0-2 test series loss against SL in UAE was most embarrassing defeat for Pakistan in recent times

1998 Test Series loss to Zimbabwe in Pakistan was perhaps the most embarrassing test defeat (notwithstanding Zimbabwe team being stronger then).

Shahzad and U Akmal must never be selected again. If there is one thing to learn from this defeat it is this.

I think losing 3-0 to Bangladesh under azhar ali comes to mind. It was just not the scoreline but the margin of each defeat.

Under Misbah its just a start. We will be playing Netherlands and Irelands as well. Seems like we might lose that too if Misbah has his way.

We say this after every defeat! What about those collapses in Tests under Mickey? These things happen to Pakistan all the time.

Misbah speaking to the press....

"Be a little patient, this was the first series. You people were saying that we should play B team etc., hopefully now you realise that in international cricket there is no A B C. Whichever team plays is difficult. They outclassed us. We should also criticise ourselves for that attitude of wanting to play all new players. Those people who did this type of analysis should also now know that this can happen and you should be ready for such situations"

This is Pakistan's most embarrassing T20I series defeat ever.

Home crowd and depleted opponent. Should've done better.

T20 matches baring the world cups have no significance. Even in the world cup only thing that matters is the eventual winner, no one cares about the win records otherwise.

Nothing can match the lows Pakistan saw under Mickey.

2-0 test series loss to SL
2-1 test series loss to NZ at home in 40+ years
ODI whitewash against against Australia C
14-match long losing streak
Repeated hammerings in NZ

Exactly!!! 14 match losing streak in ODIs was shocking.

So 10 players from the worst non-minnow side in the last 5 years back out. And Pakistan loses 2 out of the 2 T20is to them at home ? and none of them was even close ? lol ok. I don't even see the typcial Dickwela, Chameera and Kusal Perera, Mendis guys lol.

Well Misbah has started with a bang here to a possible whitewash to Sri Lanka C. There's great potential for him to eclipse the lows under Mickey.

We got beat under Mickey in Australia, we will become a meme under Misbah there this year. :yk

all the lows have one thing in common: Sarfraz was the captain :sarf

Can list a lot more embarrassing losses in just the last 5-6 years alone:

-3-0 Vs Bangladesh 2015
-2-0 Vs Sri Lanka 2017
-2-1 Vs New Zealand 2018 Tests
-5-0 Vs New Zealand 2018 ODIs
-Asia Cup losses to India and Bangladesh 2018
-4-0 Vs England 2019

All of the above were Test and ODI matches with a full strength team, at least in this series we are trying new players out.

I think it was the 2018 Asia Cup.

The amount of arrogance among our fans and even the players was quite hilarious. We labored under the delusion that we were the best ODI side on back of the Champions Trophy fluke.

We got a reality check soon after the Champions Trophy in New Zealand when we got whitewashed 5-0, but we quickly brushed it aside as a one-off affair.

Prior to the Asia Cup, we continued to bury our heads in the sand. The likes of Sarfraz engaged in trash talk and stated that India is afraid of us, while Hasan acted like an idiot at the border and claimed that he will aim to take 10 wickets against India.

We thought the new age PSL superstars of Pakistan would not fear India and the Champions Trophy would prove to be a turning point.

We expected to continue on that momentum and beat India, and our arrogance only compounded when Kohli was rested but we ended up getting thrashed not only by India, but also by Bangladesh, a team that our fans mocked and insulted for years and claimed that the 2015 whitewash was just a rare occurrence.

It was a real eye-opener that deeply damaged our players. It was the beginning of the end of Sarfraz’s captaincy and the likes of Hasan, Fakhar and Shadab never really recovered from that humiliation.

It also killed any aura that our players carried in the minds of the Indian players and fans after the Champions Trophy. The fact that we are vastly inferior and simply no match for them even without Kohli was reinforced.

The Asia Cup also badly exposed Mickey’s coaching and showed that the team didn’t make any progress under his watch.

While this series is quite embarrassing, it is not even close to the humbling experience the 2018 Asia Cup was.

We can thank Rashid Latif if this is indeed the case

There was also that Zimbabwe series in 2013
And losing to nasser Hussain’s England in 2001 which was personally the most embarrassing fort me

The Asia Cup was by far the most hardest reality check I can remember.

People were discussing the possibility of having a 3 India vs Pakistan match tournament as if we already qualified for the final even before the series begun.

What was even worse was that the team selected didn’t look that great either, so it was even more baffling seeing where all the confidence was coming from.

T20's are mostly fluke. Any team can win if a couple of players click for a brief period of time.

Don't read too much into the results.

This is Pakistan's most embarrassing T20I series defeat ever.

Home crowd and depleted opponent. Should've done better.

The common man in the stands must have said to himself; «It was better to have no cricket in Pakistan than this embarrasment» then we had an excuse at least that our team is deprived of playing on home soil, hence the defeats didn’t hurt much.

Brilliant post

Asia cup 2018 and the last world T-20 were the humiliation for the ages.

I personally do not care about bilateral T20s. I will judge Misbah by his results in ODIs and Tests.

Personally speaking I dont put much stock in t20 performances. Having said that, selection of Akmal and Shehzad was a howler. Sarfaraz also has to go from the limited overs and t20 team - but I understand that by Pakistani standards removing a captain is a big step that usually requires lots of hand wringing.

you guys are nuts. It's t20. not test or odi. come back to me when they actually beat pakistan in tests.

Wow!! Honestly Pak fans should have been habituated with embarrassing defeats by now.

Most embarrassing defeat---- so far, with Misbah running the show, the worst is yet to come.

Definetly very embarassing. Out hone crowd goes into utter silence and look sad every time a wicket falls. Our superstars should have made this series memorable for them.

Getting whitewashed by Lanka in a test series in the UAE was certainly more embarrassing.

Losing test series to Sri Lanka and New Zealand in UAE were actually in the threshold of embarrassing. I don't know about others but I don't take T20I series/rankings seriously. The only thing that matters in this format is the T20 World Cup, rest of the time teams are just playing to entertain the fans.

Even ODI series matter more because they tell you where you are as a side. I don't think the same holds true for T20Is. You can get hammered one day and come back to hammer the very same team the next day.

Up there. We were at home and we were strong favourites supposedly and playing at home. But what can you expect with Shehzad and Akmal in the team

The thing is I find funny is how some of our fans have the nerve to say how rubbish Sri Lanka are, yet our full strength teams has lost to them comfortably in our strongest format. They are playing a C team and beating us easily.

Other than Babar and Shaheen, how many world class players are we producing? Sri Lanka in recent months have produced Embuldinya, Fernando, Rajita, and some experienced players have come good after time in domestic.

We are a average team in all formats.

We seem to have our most embarrassing defeat at least once a year so I'm gonna say nah.

Losing the Test streak to SL in the UAE was the worst.

They were a garbage side.

with Misbah and Waqar we should get used to such defeats and you will see dead players no passion no energy

Another potential blessing in disguise.

Seriously this one could be a proper blessing. Will hopefully put an end to careers of Sarfaraz, Faheem, Shadab and a few other wannabe superstars

It’s a good thing we aren’t playing Afghanistan or Bangladesh in the near future. Or are we?

We are playing Netherlands and Ireland soon.... Misbah can't wait to get white wash against them as well.

Comfortably the most embarrassing. Usually Pak salvage dead rubber or two to restore pride, but alas not even that this time around!

Pakistani team can’t bowl spin and they can’t play spin to save their lives. Any team with two half decent spinners would run them over any day of the week. That’s why I think Babar’s hundred against NZ in WC19 was his best innings. Kiwis missed the trick by not playing another spinner.

One of the most embarrassing series defeats ever, if not the most. To put things into perspective.....

1. Many of the Sri Lankan players refuse to tour Pakistan due to security concerns. So they send a second string squad.

2. The second string team wins the T20I series most comfortably.

3. Having sealed the series, Sri Lanka rest five players for the third T20I from their second string team. Their C class team overcomes Pakistan and inflicts a whitewash.

Wow!

Well I dont think its the most embarrassing series loss at all simply due tho the fact it was T20 series which not many people care about. For instance Pakistan was ranked number 1 for over 2 years but nobody truly cared.

I would criticise the team for the defeat because I want to and dont want to lose matches even the meaningless ones but the fact it had nothing riding on it and was just T20s means it was no way near the most embarrassing defeat.

beat pakistan in tests and odi and then we will talk. no one cares about t20. Don't know why you guys are getting so worked up.

They won't beats pakistan in tests. Have they ever won a test series in pakistan? no. Exactly.

Don't recall them winning an old series at home too.

7 -0 in the world cup. h2h.

4-0 loss to a England was not embarrassing for me as we were playing a vastly superior team in their home conditions...

Sarfraz should be a happy man that Pakistan did not play a bilateral T-20 series with Afghanistan, otherwise Afghan spinners would have thoroughly exposed this team.
