Morris is a genuine fast bowling all-rounder. Right now his skills are balanced in batting and bowling with bowling edging it out a little bit.

Srinath was every bit as quick as Donald in 1996 - 7 period. Only Schultz and Zahid may have been quicker than both of them.

Varun Aaron was bowling well when we toured England last time. Thanks to Dhoni and his trundler brigade guys like Aaron, Umesh will never feel confident playing under Dhoni. They needed someone like Kohli to lead them in test cricket especially away from home.

Aaron might have had very quick spell or two. But that is history. The most recent performances show that he struggles to touch 150k. If you take historical data, Sami or Malinga are the quickest bowlers currently playing, and no one is naming Malinga for that title.

What is important is how quick they can bowl now.

Please lie somewhere else.There is a lisg of fastest balls in IPL and only Morris has bowled faster than Aaron.Top speed of Aaron is around 149ks this IPL.

Im not lying. I am talking about the 7 overs of his which I saw and I was unaware of the top speeds. Hes still not the fastest in the subcontinent. Maybe 4th or 5th. What is the fastest delivery hes ever bowled?

I said to him look Wahab bowled 39 overs in hot humid conditions while Aaron bowled only 11 overs in relatively cool temperatures and yet Wahab is only 0.6 kph slower than Aaron in first innings match despite bowling 29 more overs than Aaron so it is evident that he is faster than Aaron on average speed since what are the energy levels of a fast bowler after he bowls 5 overs 1st spell than 6 overs spell than 8 overs spell than 7 overs spell than 5 overs spell and than 6 overs spell

6 spells in 1 innings consisting of 37 overs compared with 2 spells of 4 overs each.


I said a tired fast bowler who bowled 37 overs in first innings averaged 89mph in 2nd spell of 2 overs with fastest of 92.5mph whereas the bowler who bowled just 8 overs in first innings bowled 3 overs in 2nd innings and his average speed was 87.2 mph with fastest 89.8 mph.


So I asked him who is the fastest among both on Average speed tell me ?


He said Varun Aaron

Wahab Riaz bowled 108 overs in a 3 test series whereas Ishant Sharma bowled 62 , Umesh Yadav bowled 42 & Aaron bowled 20 overs in a 4 Test series vs South Africa.

3 bowlers bowled 124 overs and 1 bowler bowled 108 overs.


Varun Aaron toured England in 2014. He played the 4th test there and he was at his fastest than recently he has slowed down as evident from his speeds of last test series where his fastest ball was 147.8 kph.


So on August 7-9 that test match was played in pleasant weather (not hot and humid) and Aaron bowled 26 overs where his fastest was 92.4 mph and Average Speed was 86.4 mph.

Now let's compare his 26 overs spell with Wahab's 37 overs spell in October heat and humidity of Abu Dhabi and Wahab's Average speed was 87.3 mph with fastest 91.9 mph. despite bowling 11 more overs than Aaron his Average speed was 1 mph faster than Aaron that too in heat and humid of UAE not 20 degrees temp of Manchester.


None of Indian Pacers is faster than Wahab Riaz in any format currently even on Average Speed Comparisons. This is just a circulated myth on PP.

Some Indians here always like to bash Wahab and give me his test bowling stats but Varun Aaron makes Wahab look like Joel Garner in both formats when it comes to stats. Ahh the hypocrisy

Fastest he has ever bowled is in excess of 153ks.153.5 i believe.

And even in the last Australia tour he was clocking 150s in test matches.

The argument here is speed and not Stats.So your stats argument means little.

That explains nothing. Bets would be to monitor the speeds of bowlers when they play together, on the same gun in same conditions. Asia cup was one example, and test series of Pak and Ind against us was another. And Sami was EASILY quicker than Aaron or Yadav in that occasion. Even Chameera was quicker.

There is no point saying so and so bowled at 150 in so and so place to show that he is the fastest. If others from SC got the same conditions and the gun would have clocked more according to the evidence we have.

I hate to admit Sami and Wahab are the fastest (because of their lolworthy attitude), but we will not see a Akthar or Malinga pretty soon who both has brain and brawn.

What is this evidence that you talk about?

Yadav and Aaron have bowled 150ks in India and in Australia in NZ.Not just one place.

Aaron never goes out all out in IPL or LOIs for that matter. He does bowl faster in Tests though. Anyway, he isn't that good a bowler whatever pace he bowls at. Why are some posters getting their knickers in such a twist ?!
 
Wahab and Yadav are a tad close to each other but seriously those calling Sami and Wahab faster than Aaron are laughable at best!

He is the first bowler in the history of Cricket to bowl quick in test matches (which he doesn't play mostly) than limited overs cricket.


The argument in ASIA cup was that Aaron & Yadav would have been the fastest bowlers in Asia Cup had Dhoni and selection committee selected them. The argument was not that had they played Asia Cup they would have not gone all out and hence not quickest because Asia Cup format is not Test Cricket.


Be it be Shoaib, Lee or Bond they have bowled quickest in limited overs because you have limited overs to bowl and you can go all out. Whereas in test cricket you have to bowl uptil 5 spells in a single innings so you have to conserve energy and not go all out. Going all out not only decreases your speed substantially in 2nd 3rd fourth spell etc but when you get tired and fatigued your line and length aswell as control goes away aswell.


Wait as Zak Fan said Aaron will become quickest when he will become 29 years old so let's wait for that. Currently he is conserving his pace for life after 5 years and he will switch On NOS at 29 when his physical powers are at his peak like Johnson of Ashes & Wahab of Worldcup while forgetting what happened with Zahir, Nehra & Patel between the age of 26-30 :-)

You may not have complete knowledge about him. So, let me explain it to you.

Now, He has been told by selectors that he is being considered only for Tests (and rightfully so). He has been given a limited role of bowling short attacking spells, one with the new ball & one or two later when it reverses. So, he gives it his all in the Tests (being the only format of international cricket he plays). And if he you have seen the Australian tour, you would know he did bowl 150 kph there. In the SA series at home, he bowled upto 148 kph.

Also, if he bowls fast in T20s, he knows he would go for runs. He ends up getting inconsistent in line & length or edges sail over boundary ropes at that speed.

He is not conserving pace ! He is bowling fast in Tests ffs. May be you need to watch more Test matches of other countries apart from Pakistan.

I know what I am talking.

He hardly plays test matches and has bowled 14 overs per innings hardly due to him being Erratic fast bowler.

What is the difference between 10 & 14 overs ? ?


And he has hardly even bowled 10 overs in an odi. Occasionally & rarely.


I follow alot of international cricket. You may not be knowing when he bowled his fastest bowl in international cricket which he will never touch again in this life. For the speed refer to my few months old post.


Between Hirwani legspinner has good first class record though.

I think I know who Varun Aaron is but not sure, it's tough to keep up with India's revolving line of 'pace' bowlers. Regardless, has Aaron done anything worth remembering in international cricket?

For those getting excited at what his pace may be in IPL or whatever, seriously who gives a ..? IPL matches are of no consequence, and every other day you see someone blasting a 100 off 40 balls. Let's keep international cricket as the true judge of a player's capability. Even I am an amazing batsmen in the nets and never get out, and hits lots of 4s and 6's.

So, what has Aaron done in international cricket?
 
Ok so this has turned into Varun Aaron vs Wahab Riaz, predictable really, but goes to show the massive insecurity Pakistani fans have when a country who used to be a laughing stock in terms of pace bowling a decade back has produces a pacer faster than theirs.

If you think Wahab is a 150~ or 150+ bowler then you are seriously seriously kidding yourself. In UAE he operates at 139-143 and revved it up to 145 to about 146 when needed in Aus/NZ, with the rare 150+ delivery. Sami is similar, which is admirable since he is at the age where pacers lose pace.

Aaron is faster than both. Tbh Shami has probably almost caught up to Wahab's pace before he got injured, remains to be seen if it's still the case.

To answer OP the fastest is probably the man, the legend himself Atul Sharma, who has been kept away from a debut because our eyes are not ready to handle his speeds on TV screens.

Other than him, in terms of speed here's how I rank the Asian pacers:

1) Aaron
2) Chameera
3) Wahab / Yadav
4) Sami / Shami
5) Ishant / Nehra / Amir

They both played in Sri Lanka. So did Chameera, Wahab and Sami. That gives direct comparison.

Hell yeah, Chameera, Malinga and Fernando all hit 150k on various occasions and all of them are still bowling. So using your Delhi logic Malinga is the fastest from SC as he hit 156k in NZ .

So what's your point? Do you want to compare them head to head, or concede that Malinga is the fastest from current SC bowlers?

He loses his radar when bowling close to 150k's.

Its better if he bowls in low 140's and bowls a decent line and length.
 
Varun Aaron joins Leicestershire County to play across both first-class and List A formats

India fast bowler Varun Aaron is to join Leicestershire for part of the 2018 county season.

The 28-year-old will replace injured Sohail Khan, who had been set to fill the gap when Mohammad Abbas is part of Pakistan's side touring England.

Aaron will be available for County Championship and One-Day Cup games between 20 April and 20 June.

He has taken 18 wickets in nine Tests for India, and 11 in nine one-day international appearances.

"Varun is a high-quality performer and his skills will be ideally suited to early season conditions in England," said Leicestershire head coach Paul Nixon.

"We are getting a genuinely quick bowler, who has played a number of games for India and also enjoyed a fine domestic career.

"Varun is very keen to do well for us and get back in the India team again and we're really looking forward to him linking up with us."
