Islamabad United (191/2) beat Karachi Kings (190/4) by 8 wicket

The ball before this free hit was also a No-Ball I guess.

Pathetic captaincy by Imad Wasim. Why was he holding Amir back? What is he contributing to the team? It’s time to drop him, play Qasim Akram and hand over the captaincy to Babar

There is a special feeling of contentment when Amir gets the treatment out in the field. Rubbish bowler. He's so entitled in his head that he thinks no Pakistani batsmen can hit him out of the park. And when somebody does, he gets all worked up.
 
Looks like amir muttered something under his breath after that boundary, chacha gave it right back with interest, don’t think amir expected that

Imad is just back.
Babar was the captain most of the part.
 
Not a fan of Iftikhar but when in full flow(only seen in domestics), looks really smooth and effortless.
 
Karachi let go of both Rizwan and Ifti, and now both have taken revenge.

Could have added some 10 crucial runs there with some urgency. Played very sedately earlier on.
But KK have done a lot of stuff wrong today.

Still cant get over the fact that Babar isnt captaining his team in PSL.
 
Great run chase, but lousy fielding by Karachi.

Simple chances dropped.
 
Babar was too slow. He is consistent but needed to do more. 50 on 42 deliveries when there was dew wasnt a good performance.

I think a team should be able to defend 191 on any surface. Not to forget its a pretty big ground as well.

It was poor bowling and fielding which costed them the match.

Even 10 or 15 more runs here would not have changed the result based upon the way match ended
 
Why can't Chacha Iftikhar and Asif fall to pieces why they play for Pakistan? Is it oppositions bowling,pitches or pressure.Had these two been consistent they would solved Pakistan's middle order problems.

Better bowling attacks, more opposition analysis of strengths/weaknesses, higher fielding standards etc.

Lots of players just cannot translate their domestic form into the international arena.
 
A record 150-run unbeaten partnership for the third wicket between Colin Munro and Iftikhar Ahmed guided Islamabad United to a comfortable eight-wicket win over Karachi Kings in the 22nd match of the HBL PSL 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 191 to win, United got off to a shaky start as they lost Usman Khawaja (12 off 16, one four) and debutant Muhammad Akhlaq (one off two) in the batting powerplay with 41 runs on the board.

Iftikhar, coming to bat at number four, joined Munro, and both batsmen played shots all around the ground. They were provided two lifelines each. Iftikhar was dropped by Imad Wasim off his own bowling in the ninth over on seven and then in the 16th over on 46.

Munro was dropped on 34 in the 12th over by Waqas Maqsood off Abbas Afridi. The left-handed batsman took full advantage of the dropped chance as he struck Abbas for two consecutive fours later in the same over.

Munro was given another chance when he was caught of the full toss bowled by Thisara Perera’s which later was adjudicated above waist height, and Perera went for 23 runs in the over.

Munro brought up his fifth HBL PSL half-century in 39 balls. He returned undefeated on 88 off 56, hitting 12 fours and two sixes. His partner Iftikhar scored a 39-ball 71, laced with five fours and as many sixes.

Earlier, after being put into bat, half-centuries from Babar and Najibullah lifted Kings to 190 for four.

The opening pair of Sharjeel Khan and Babar contributed 37 runs for the first wicket, with left-handed Sharjeel scoring 25 off 17, (one four and two sixes), before being dismissed by Akif Javed in the fifth over.

Babar kept the scoreboard moving and struck two fours and a six off Ali Khan’s first over – sixth of the innings – and collected 17 runs of the over to end the batting powerplay on a high note at 56 for one.

The left-handed Najibullah joined Babar after the dismissal of Martin Guptill and the pair did the repairing work by adding 117 off 69 for the third wicket partnership.

Babar, who started his HBL PSL career for Islamabad United in 2016, struck his 19th half-century of the tournament. He struck splendid shots around the dial in his 81 off 54 (seven fours and three sixes).

Afghanistan international Najibullah scored an unbeaten 42-ball 71 in an innings embellished with five fours and four sixes. He brought up his maiden half-century in the 18th over, where he collected 21 runs off Wasim’s over, hitting the right-arm pacer for two sixes and a four.

Islamabad United now lead the points table with 12 points from eight matches, while title-defenders Karachi Kings are on the fourth spot with six points from seven outings.

Karachi Kings 190-4, 20 overs (Babar Azam 81, Najibullah Zardan 71 not out, Sharjeel Khan 25)

Iftikhar was a good solution for us in ODI and T20 cricket, for some reasons the selectors ie Misbah decided to pick him for a test match in Australia where he didn't impress and he went down the pecking order again in the other formats

i did... and its unfortunate ... 1 thing i always liked abt Imad was that he was an "in your face" kind of a cricketer... he wasnt one to shy off from anyone but if he is hidding himself , which he did, its bad .

also, what he did well in last psl was to bring himself at no4... he has in him to play innings that Zardan played today .. dont know why he would drop down so low in batting....

its his confidence that seems to be going completely ...

its sad to see him go down without a fight

so the highest run scorer for pakistan in last 6 months in international T20s, all runs as an opener, 5-6 times he carried bat and he comes at no5? .. wat has Sharjeel done to be in the side? Ifti chacha ( i am def in favour of him but) plays 1 innings and he is in...

and to top the cherry .... Umar Akmal lol ... wat has he done to be in the team? which domestic games he has hit tons? all his contribution, apart from making an A$$$$ of hismelf by talking jurpies, is making funny ticktock videos dressed as a perrot.

this lineup is a joke to say the least
