Israel issues severe terror warning for India, immediate threat of attacks

Haven't seen them do this before - obviously let's hope they are wrong and are just being extra cautious.

Israel's anti-terrorism directorate issued a travel warning for India on Friday, citing an immediate threat of attack to Western and tourist targets, particularly in the south-west of the country.

"A particular emphasis should be put on events in the coming days in connection with beach and club parties celebrating the New Year where a concentration of tourists will be high," part of the warning said.

The statement recommended that tourists avoid participation in such parties. It also called on families in Israel to contact their relatives in India and tell them of the threat.

In addition, it recommended avoiding markets, festivals and crowded shopping areas. Unusually, the warning was published on Friday evening in Israel, after the start of the Jewish Sabbath, when government offices close for business.

The directorate did not say what prompted the warning.

They prevent Pakistanis from visiting India with terrorism excuse. Threat is still there so obviously problem is much bigger than Pakistan. This is like france trying to ban burkinis to stop extremism.

They are talking about Goa, the Russian tourists in Goa and surrounding areas are easy targets.

I dont even believe them when they claim responsibility now. If someone steals a hen ,isis claims responsibility. I think they just grab every opportunity to show how deadly they are even if they aren't behind it.

Yeah same here,weird thing is they claim responsibility even if someone follows their twitter handle or shared some ISIS message before doing anything violent.

The very fact that Isis has a twitter account should raise some eye brows. Accounts of normal people get closed down over petty issues.

I think its just nonsense. Nothing is going to happen. But now people will be scared for no reason. All it takes is somebody to point a finger. Lets just hope everything goes well.

Indian media talks about whatever sells ... and obviously mention of Pakistan gets them the TRP. So you can imagine.... If it's not Pakistan, then it has to be China !

It happens every where. The job of media is supposed to keep people informed, instead they try to make things black and white. Same has been happening in Turkey recently. Ever since the Turkish coup everything is blamed on Feth Gulen. This is dangerous as people won't know about problems arising from other fronts and governments most likely won't do anything as long as people are not making some noise.

Kerala has already seen 2-3 bombings in major governmental institutions in the past decade. They escaped much national attention as there was not much of a death toll . All of that has been brushed under neatly by successive governments (Communist & Congress) in a shameless attempt to consolidate the minority votebank on communal lines.

This has led to a ticking time bomb in arguably one of the most religiously diverse & secular states of India(which has rarely seen communal conflicts with the frequency as in the rest of India ).
The reluctance of past governments to even properly address this issue has led to a large chunk of the Hindu populace being disenfranchised with either parties . This is one of the major reasons for the sudden rise of the Sangh Parivar & Hindutva in my state ( which is just as bad an outcome ) !

I read stories about Israel intelligence agencies having warned about 9/11 attacks. Was that truth or just one of the post 9/11 hoaxes ?
