Imran Tahir speaking to the media in Lahore:

"Kind of mixed feelings for me to come back to the place where I grew up, I wanted to play for Pakistan. I'm proud and happy of where I am in my career and am thankful to CSA. It's nice to be here for a good cause."

"I was probably the first one to be asked and I said I'd love to go."

"I don't think there will be anything special that I'll do; I know how the ground is since I've been a local here for a long time. I've gotten some information about the pitch and it's not very good for me as the pitch is usually flat!"

"Looking forward to a good challenge. It was always my dream to play in front of a full crowd in Lahore and I'm proud that I'll be playing in front of my family for the first time."

"I encourage people to come and support this cause, it's a brilliant thing for cricket to come back to Pakistan."

"Pakistan is a very good team and they proved that at the CT. I just need to do my homework and watch the players. I am slightly familiar with the conditions so I will try to use my experience."

"I myself wanted to play for Pakistan but this is God's will. I am not the only player who played for a country different from his country of birth. I'm proud that I've at least played for South Africa and that I am returning for a good cause."

"I have played FC cricket in many countries but back when I used to play here in Pakistan until 2006, I felt that the standard of domestic cricket was very high. I played against very good players. I enjoyed it a lot and it made me tough. Even though I didn't get an opportunity, I took it positively and worked hard."

"I hope these matches prove that Pakistan is a safe place to play cricket."

"Pakistan has a lot of good players. Sarfaraz and Shoaib Malik play spin well and Fakhar Zaman is in good form. We've done our homework about how to bowl to them."

"Shadab Khan is a very talented youngster. I congratulate him for what he's achieved in his career so far and wish him all the best for the future."

"My teammates asked me about Pakistan as I'm a local. I spoke to them positively. I consistently come to Pakistan to meet my family and I told them that there's no problem here."

"This tour is for a very big cause. I came here believing that people will remember me in a good way. If all goes well here and I look back in 10 years, I can hold my head high and say I was a part of this good cause and I'm pretty sure everyone in the squad feels the same way."

Good to hear he is in Pakistan with the team. I thought he wouldn't come due to the recent issue.

Mixed emotions indeed for Imran Tahir and I wonder what would have happened if he stayed in Pakistan?

I guess by now he'd be retired and struggling to make ends meet.

He kept on referring himself as a local and journalists kept on asking him how does it feel like playing infront of Pakistani crowd being a Pakistan

We welcome him and his teammates to Pakistan

It doesnt matter what his background is 3rd

He's made the effort and he needs to be applauded for that

Love to see crowd reaction to his wicket celebrations

Sad to read. " I wanted to play for Pakistan." It's not Imran who should feel bad. He's a testament to the long term nurturing brilliance of the PCB. Remind me, how many world's best ODI spinners do we have in the current squad?

I have nothing but respect for Imran tahir he is a good man and he did whats best for himself. Hope he enjoys his time out their and wish the world xi nothing but the best and thank them all for coming. Hopefully Lahore shows them a good time and the support is loud.
