I've heard many times here on PP that he was Pakistan's best test captain ever and has great understanding of the game. So, he may not turn out as bad a coach as people here think he will.
What isn’t wrong with him is what I wanna know? Are you really satisfied with his selection of tried and tested failures? His ideology that experience matters more than trying out someone new? The guy says international cricket is not a laboratory and yet decides to do experiments with the team in order to fit in the chosen ones. We are a number 1 twenty20 side that lost to a Sri-Lankan C team. Are you okay with that?

How does being a great captain of a certain format guarantee success? If captains are good enough to be coaches than there is no need for coaches in cricket. I guess failures in Test cricket will make people realize this dude just doesn’t have the experience, nor eye of talent to be a coach and chief selector. Proper research on a person’s credibility is required here. If an experienced coach in Mickey Arthur failed to improve our test cricket, I do not see unexperienced Misbah doing any better.
