"It's part of life to make mistakes but important thing is to learn from the mistakes" : Raza Hasan

Raza Hasan speaking on a TV show:

"It's part of life to make mistakes but the important thing is to learn from the mistakes. I have thought about it a lot."

"First class cricket is coming up and my aim is to perform well and to come back into consideration for selection and eventually make a comeback."

"Lahore Qalandars have given me a great opportunity. Aaqib Javed is working with us, we go to the gym in the morning and we are training hard. He knows what is needed of a player and he's doing good work with us."

It makes me sad that few of the better talented cricketers in Pakistan didnt fulfill their potential due to various reasons.

Starting from
Asif
Amir
Riaz Afridi
Sharjeel
Raza

Have met Raza at Diamond cricket ground and he was a friendly, nice chap but even at that time there were rumors that he is not in a good company and do charas.

Let's hope he has learnt his lessons as he says. If he keeps the right attitude then he will be back in T20. He is far more reliable spinner in that format than anyone who is playing for Pak now or has played recently.

As a young bowler he seemed to have it all but by the time he played for PK, his bowling had deteriorated from his u19 levels.

He definitely had some mystery to his bowling.

And I totally agree with him - he made a silly mistake but now he can redeem himself domestically and hopefully if he does well then he can come knocking on the national doors.

Good luck to the lad. I really liked his passion and hope he still has that fire.

Looked good like many others.. but has to start from the bottom & he should count himself lucky as he is bk straight into Lahore Qalandars team too

You learn from your first mistakes, if you don't then very unlikely you will learn from your second and third ones onwards

I feel that if he has learned from his mistakes let him have a go in T20, I feel he will better than others in the past like Mohammad Nawaz.

shaz619 agreed too many are quick to judge and play judge jury and executioner on someone.

some times u fall on hard times daddy as the great Dusty once said. May he rest in peace.

Hopefully he's learnt from his past mistakes as he has some potential with the ball. SLAO in tests is an open slot in tests, so if he can perform in first class cricket he could find himself back in contention.

An open slot with a waiting list lol. Asghar and Zafar will have to fail first, plus there's guys like Shadab and Usama Mir who are also ahead of him in the supporting spinner role. It's going to be hard for Raza to make a comeback.

Another player who had potential but ruined himself

He still has potential, everyone makes mistakes, that's just part of the parcel that is called life.

He is only 25, definitely, has time on his side. He can up his fitness levels, improve his fielding, batting, and gets his bowling levels to where they were previously (or better), I can see him walking into our T20 team. This guy made big names look like amateurs in the little he played. Still, remember Shane Watson.

Lahore Qalenders hopefully will give him a chance to play in the PSL. I remember before he got banned he had a back injury, hoping that he is over that. That injury was affecting his action, 2 years away from cricket should help if he took the proper precautions.

Two questions:

1. How well can this guy bat?

2. How sure are we that it was just recreational use?

As mentioned, looks like LQ have given him a golden opportunity- I hope he makes the most of it.

1. He has a century and a couple of fifties in FC cricket, but the record is not good in LO cricket. Definitely, has the potential, needs to improve upon it.

2. We can only go by reports, and from those, it was just recreational use. No way of knowing, what else could he be using it for? Steriodal, which I highly doubt. Depends on concentrations they found.

This guy needs to sort out his head as he has been highly unprofessional in many ways already.

Last chance saloon for him.
