Jayant Yadav Performance Watch

Seems like a classical offie but lacks the penetration of Ashwin. Pretty good 2nd/3rd spinner.

If he is likely to play only as the 2nd/3rd spinner, I dont think he will be considered for the overseas series. In India, his batting is good enough to be the all rounder. Even the short deliveries in India wont trouble him that much.

He was in deep trouble every time he faced it.. Got hit and had no idea how to duck happened 4-5 times from what I saw. So blowers would sure to target this in future.

No point of considering him for overseas as they will only go with one or two spinners max any ways

Yeah, but he will learn and sort it out. At least to that level where he can manage short stuff at home.

TBH, Woakes has a really good short delivery and can fool some really good top order bats. I do not remember anyone else troubling him.

If he can turn out to be a decent spinner, India can dominate in Asia for 5 years to come.

Jayant Yadav: Middlesex sign India spinner for final month of season.

Middlesex have signed India off-spinner Jayant Yadav for the final month of the county season.

The 33-year-old will be available for the club's final four Championship fixtures, starting with Monday's game against Essex at Chelmsford.

Yadav has 16 wickets from six Tests and has played two one-day internationals.

"With Pieter Malan returning home to South Africa we wanted to bolster the squad with another quality signing," said director of cricket Alan Coleman.

"We feel that spin will be an important factor in September and the opportunity to sign an international spinner of Jayant's quality was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"He brings us that extra bit of something you get from an international cricketer, experience, quality, know how - all attributes that will prove hugely valuable to us in the coming games."

Yadav also has a Test century to his credit, one of three in first-class cricket, including a career-best score of 211.
