This is such a depressing thread.
Usman.
Junaid is injury prone and two years older than in 2017.
His fitness hasn't been up to the mark either.
Plus Usman clearly outperformed Junaid on the same pitch against the same opposition.

No one. Both are pathetic skill less bowlers without pace.i would take wahab over these pathetic bowlers everyday and twice on sunday

Usman Shinwari will be directly responsible for us losing a match or two in the WC.
He is an inferior version of Wahab. Same spray gun style of bowling with lower pace.
As depressing as it sounds, one of the two will have to make the 15. Micky seems to love UKS and wants to keep him in the spotlight for WC consideration.
Realistically, Shinwari had no business being selected for the Pak v Aus series considering how he had lost his way by the end of the South Africa series and his below par, mediocre PSL performance. The guy takes another quick-fire 4 wickets and he seems to make everyone's WC squad all of a sudden.
This is problematic. It is not enough evidence to be considered for the bigger picture. This was not even the Australia side that we are likely to face in the world cup. This is one side out of 9 others, all posing different challenges. A world cup match is not an ordinary ODI match at Dubai stadium with no fans watching.
Junaid Khan has injury problems but I would pick him 99/100 times before UKS.
Junaid Khan, experienced and proven in English conditions
Shinwari if this was purely based on ability however I envisage him choking on the big stage as evident from the number of matches, he's got carted around in the back end of the innings.
So I would go for Junaid Khan as he played pivotal role during the CT 2017 with his bowling performances throughout the competition. He's a lot more calm under pressure. Having said that, I'm not convinced he's one of Pakistan's three best bowlers due to his lack of pace (even slower than Amir) and his lateral movement, so in my eyes he's a gun barrel straight trundler who is a shadow of what he was back in 2012-2013, when he was consistently bowling 140+. He makes the squad as the back up to Pakistan's front line trio of bowlers comprising of Shaheen, Amir and Hasan Ali.
As far as Pakistan lefties are concerned, I rank them as follows:
Shaheen > Amir > Junaid > Shinwari > Rumman > Wahab > Rahat > Waqas Masood
Other than Shaheen, the rest are pretty average/substandard.
Usman Shinwari will be directly responsible for us losing a match or two in the WC.

Indeed.
Same also holds true for Junaid though. Both are terrible. Junaid is a gun barrel straight hopping trundler.
But obviously the lesser evil is Junaid. So can be picked as a backup.
When was the last time he played a successful series in England? It must have been a long time ago because I don't have any recall of it.
Agree with u but do we just make sure that he only bowls before over 43. Hasan should be able to bowl with the new ball with Shaheen and Imad chipping in against teams that play 2 righties
Junaid against top teams since CT 2017 is something like 4 matches - avg. of 58 and economy of 6.32 . Worst pakistani fast bowler after Aamir in this period. Shinwari against top teams - 7 matches avg. of 29 and economy of 5.38. Mickey likes him for a reason. Gives it his all and despite not being the most talented has come up with better numbers. These days he even seems fitter than Junaid. I think it's better to leave out both Aamir/Junaid and take another young quick to the World Cup - most likely Hasnain
Junaid khan is averaging 41 in the last 5 years , i think we need to move on from him. Shinwari should be selected ahead of him only because of his record but I think neither of them should play for us in the world cup. People are judging shinwari on PSL , PSL is fun t20 cricket. In odis he has done pretty well.
Play shinwari against england and lets see how he does.

What about in South Africa? Didn't you watch the 2nd T20I, where David Miller made him register the Worst bowling figures ever by a Pakistani.
He was also poor in ODIs, except for the 4th ODI where he rolled over the tailenders. His wicket off No-ball costed us that series decider.
Not a great outing for JK today
I used to like junaid. But his too similar to Amir. Low 130kph pace with out much zip.
Whereas shinwari bowls with pace and Is aggressive. And has the X Factor.
So I would go for shinwari.
He doesn't really have the X factor. Shaheen has that: pace, bounce, bit of swing.
All Shinwari does is bend his back in a really awkward position and send down inswingers at good pace. Effective on his day but I feel in the WC on flat (yes they may seem and swing a little but still...) English decks he'll be tonked towards midwicket. He doesn't have much other than that, he is almost like Rumman Raees; Raees had yorkers and he has inswingers.
Junaid can still swing and seam albeit at a lower pace. I feel that Junaid's rounded of skill-set will be more effective than Shinwari's here and there performances.
