This is a thread for all the crazy and unusual happenings in the often bizarre world of Pakistan cricket.

Let me start with Haris Sohail having to deny a story alleging that he felt he was the victim of black magic in South Africa.
 
How can such a laughable story get so big that the cricketer has to formally deny it?
 
I have a feeling this thread will be very interesting over the years
 
If I was Haris Sohail I'd come out and blow up the black magic angle even further. Call the journos for a 3hr press conference and ramble on and on.

When life gives you an opportunity to troll...

Umm......

Didn't Haris claim, that he saw a ghost in his room during WC 15?

That may have played a part in these stories about black magic and Haris.

But this is the level of education and reflection that Pakistan cricket has sunk to.

Two matches ago I (wrongly) didn’t think that Shan Masood was Test class.

Now he’s my last hope captain of Pakistan, given that the current skipper is the only other person with an education but he is more into blind faith than analysis.

Ok but when it happened to Broad or Watson you didn't make them seem like uneducated idiots. Stop being so condescending towards your own people.

Inzi talking about the seriousness of 'toe' injury to Junaid when the bowler is himself saying he is fine and has offers from 2 BPL teams!
 
Chairman of selectors says a player is unfit. Next day NOC is given to the same player to play in the BPL.

Sticking to simplest of truth is not so easy. Politics and self interest come in the way.

We've been through worse - take your pick from anything that came out of Ijaz Butt's mouth between 2009-11.
 
the tradition of making mediocre batsmen a captain because they can say a few lines in English: Salman Butt, Azhar Ali, and I expect Shan Masood to add on to that list in the near future
 
“Its a rebuilding process in Pakistan cricket , you need to give time to the youngsters” been hearing this line for nearly two decades, but when does the rebuilding process stop and the youngsters come of age ?

Because the [paper] media peddle that rubbish everyday and most of the big name [television] media pick it up and run with it.
 
Just another day when the skipper says a former player has made a personal attack on him.
 
Just another day when the skipper is wondering if he's still the skipper or an ex skipper.

Saj you really need to take it a little easy on this. I get why people are offended but this is definitely not a clear cut case of racial abuse.

You can... it’s called water weight. You can literally put on 20lbs worth. Especially with high sodium food.

Boxers do it to cut weight and the rehydrate. Heck their is even clauses in boxing to stop boxers abusing it and getting a unfai weight advantage. So on weigh in they be 160lbs. Come the next day they’d be 180lbs plus

I wouldn't blame Kaneria or Akhtar for taking so long to publicize these comments. There are powerful players at work in Pak cricket, and speaking against them can be harmful.

This is akin to sexual harassment victims remaining quiet for decades. We really shouldn't be throwing shade at Kaneria for "taking 14 years to remember"

Kaneria should name the players so they can publicly shamed. This kind of "dont eat with us" attitude needs to die

Kaneria has said all sorts of things about Pakistan cricket since he was found guilty in England of fixing etc. Why would he have kept this to himself?
 
When the head of the NCA is fired and an investigation launched into 15 years of malpractice at the NCA.
 
When an international cricketer removes his clothes when he's not happy about the results of a fitness test.
