Kal Yafai dominated Conception a two weight world champion and an elite fighter in the most one sided world title fight in history, not only did he become Birmingham's first world champion but he also helped British Boxing achieve an unprecedented feat of having a world champion in every division!

It was a travesty that the sky cut off Yafai right after he won and Carl Froch did him no favours on commentary, they put down the win more to Conception doing well; thankfully Adam Smith and Matthew Macklin were a lot more objective. It's not his fault that he was too good for Conception Carl, it doesn't make his win any less significant just because you were so rubbish that you fat ugly chin took quiet a bit of punishment before getting that WBC belt of Pascal ! The way he dominated the fight reminded me of how superb Amir was vs Kotelnik when he won, I'd give Kal all 12 rounds; just go over to sky, very few backed him against Conception and went on to say it would be a tough tough ask! but I had faith in the Birmingham lad, nothing suggested to me he would struggle; Kal should have been a double Olympic Gold medalist but his amateur career had been cut shore due to injuries and other external issues which really should never have got in the way of how brilliant he is and our country should embrace this once in a life time talent.

Kal was swift in his movements and judged range incredibly well, you could see his amateur pedigree with the fantastic footwork but what has made him such a wonderful pro level fighter is his counter punching style which doesn't allow for his opponents to get into a rhythm. Such fighters will be very difficult to beat, Kal has quick hands, he moves really well and he has a top boxing IQ; the only thing which has a question mark is his chin because I've not really seen him take a good shot but that's mostly down to the fact that he rarely allows fighters to hit him flush!

I hope moving forward sky do a better job getting behind Kal and his promoter really needs to look into elevating his profile because he has a gem in his stable, if not Kal could always leave for America where his ability would be truly appreciated because on this night he is not only a world class fighter but borderline elite, I say borderline because he'll have to prove it moving forward.

God Awful scoring for the Kal Yafai fight  , it is beyond me what the other two judges were thinking; it should have been 120-108 across the board

Kal Yafai has become WBA super-flyweight world champion after impressively outpointing Luis Concepcion at the Manchester Arena

The unbeaten Birmingham star dominated from the first to last bell and after having 'El Nica' down in the tenth, won via scores of 120-108, 119-108 and 117-110.

The belt was only on the line for Yafai after Concepcion failed to make weight and the 27-year-old grasped the opportunity and in doing so became his home city's first ever world champion as well as Britain's first ever super-flyweight title holder.

Yafai (21-0-KO14) got straight down to business from the opening bell and quickly found his range and accuracy with the left hand on his way to a dominant, memorable and historical victory.

Speaking to Sky Sports afterwards, a delighted Yafai said: "It's unbelievable, it hasn't quite sunk in yet, I knew I would do it, it was just a matter of how. I done what i needed to do and got through it.

"There's still a lot more to give, this will take me up to another level now, I didn't think I was that great to be honest, was just comfortably winning the rounds and that was it."

Despite Concepcion weighing in heavier, Yafai looked the stronger of the two as the fight commenced, quickly working behind a sharp left jab to get the better of the early exchanges.

A straight right in the second continued proceedings as Yafai started to show he certainly belonged with the world's elite, before crunching hooks to the body and left-hand counters impressively followed in the next few exchanges.

The Panama fighter started to cut a frustrated and bewildered figure as he marched forward with little success, failing to match and counter the skillful work of Yafai.

In the fifth, Concepcion was knocked sideways by a left hook as the pressure continued, before a punishing body shot again had the former champion wincing.

The pair got involved in some close-up battles as the fight reached the eighth round, but Yafai maintained his domination as a right hand over the top landed flush before a clean left hand found the target on the bell.

In the tenth, Yafai sent Concepcion to the canvas after a left hook-right cross combo, but the Panamanian managed to see through the rest of the round, but could do little to change the result in the final few rounds.

Classy Interview:

Emotional scene's, this is what it means for the Kal family and the great city of Birmingham

Barry Hearn confirms Kal Yafai first defence will be in Birmingham, can't wait!

Either of these two could be Kal Yafai's opponents within the next 18 months:

Hopefully Gonzales sticks around at super flyweight because there's a big pay day waiting for him in a super fight vs Kal in Britain.

Gonzales is a phenomenal fighter and ranked the no.1 P4P best across many publications

I'm yet to watch the fight, will get round to doing so but from what I hear great performance and very well deserved. This guy deserves it from the get go. Unbelievable natural talent. I first heard of him around 10 years ago when he was an amateur. A friend of mine who is also a pro boxer now, at the time went to his gym for sparring as an amateur and told me to watch out for Yafai since then. He hasn't proven many wrong has he. He was predicted to win a world title and boy has he provided. Can't wait for him to unify the division. Well done Khalid. 1 down. Gamal next.

Excellent , near flawless performance and truly deserved.

Carl Froch tried his level best to ruin it by putting it all down to how awful his opponent was, think it was hard for him to digest how Kal had taken to such a high level with so much ease which is understandable but give the guy credit dude. Thankfully Matthew Macklin was on commentary to

It was a surreal performance, I've been following Kal since the amateurs to; it's unfortunate injuries held him back from becoming an olympic champion and sought of slowed the pace of his career. He has had to overcome a great deal though and its nice to see his hard work/grind pay off in emphatic fashion, expect him to be a great champion. Maybe down the line he can challenge Gonzales who has done enough to cement himself as an ATG in the lower weight classes
