Beast of an innings today.
200 out of total 318 they were chasing.
Great knock.

Scary stuff if your not an Akmal brothers supporter. Kamran Akmal has been in beast mode for the past few FC seasons.

Highest scores in Pakistan in List A cricket:

Mohammad Ali 207 Pakistan Customs v DHA in 2004/05
Khalid Latif 204* Karachi Dolphins v Quetta Bears in 2008/09
Kamran Akmal 200 WAPDA v HBL in 2017/18

Never have been akmal supporter.
It was a great innings even by domestic standards and that's what i have written.
How does that make me Kami or akmal supporter????

A common thing between them, all 3 never established themselves fully at the international level (Mohammad Ali never even played).

Doesn't make you an Akmal supporter.

I'm saying overall it's scary in terms of this could rocket him back into the Pakistan team.

No doubt it's a great inning, but at the same time, as I said above this could very well push him into the team which for most Pakistan cricket supporters is a scary sight.

He wont get anywhere near team...
He has to play as a fielder as Sarf will keep so that’s not gonna work in his favour.
With Fakhar, Azhar, Imam there and Sami also in reckoning, I think it is safe to say his international career is over.

I really hope your right, but as we all have come to learn and see things can change pretty quickly/drastically in Pakistan cricket. I think I have read somewhere that Kami has said that he doesn't mind playing just as a fielder :/

He keeps scoring runs in domestic and keeps failing at Internationals.

Tells you what the standard of cricket and the pitches are in the country.

What does it tell?
Can you please explain.

When a First class team gets out at below 100 scores, that tells the standard of cricket and pitches.

When a player hits 200 that tells the standard of cricket and pitches.

So can you please explain

Kamran Akmal was a fully established and regular member of the international team for 5-6 years

That he sucks at his primary job which is wicket keeping. Does not matter how much he scores in domestic but the fact that he can not do both at international levels tells you how bad the standard of cricket is in Pakistan.

Only for ~2-3 years was he a fully established player but after that, he was just free riding.

Anyhow, I was talking about a full-fledged international career, Kami career came to a halt after 5-6 years.

I don't know how you can say Kamran was only a regular for 2-3 years - that would sound absurd to anyone watching cricket in the 2000's

He has the 2nd most catches for any Pakistani WK in test matches! And he was a regular in the team from 2004 to about 2010 - he probably only missed a handful of games

Kamran definitely had a long run as an international player. Not every players has to play 100+ tests

Reread what I posted. I said that he was a fully established player for 2-3 years of those ~5-6 years. One can ask any Pakistani fan that he lost it on that tour to England in 06, and never really recovered after that. He has the 2nd most catches by a Pakistani wicketkeeper, but he also has the most drops too. He was just free riding for about 3-4 of those years and was being played more due to his "batting" ability.

Sarfraz couldn't do this even in his wildest dreams.

Credit where it's due.

That is one awesome innings.

K Akmal, Shehzad, Salman Butt, Imran Farhat

So many TTFs scoring runs in this game alone, worrying signs for the health of Pakistan cricket

Given how flawed his game is at international level, I have to assume he was dropped a few times in this innings.

We just can't rule him out, we've already lost Sharjeel and Fakhar might not be able to ride his CT final innings for much longer. Who else is there? Not saying i'd want him there, but i wouldn't be surprised to see him return to the t20 team in 2018.

There is no way He should come back in to the team. He is remembered only for his missed catches.

This is a great innings. There is very good chance that Kamran might find his way back into the Pakistan ODI/Test teams.

Have not seen Mohammad Ali, but by looking at other two, it can be see that domestic cricket is about keep banging shots at one point. Both of the players are very good if ball comes their way, but horrible if it comes into discomfort zone. At domestic they can survive like that, but at international level they can get figured out with ease and will be exploited in almost every single game with good teams.

No he isn't. He's a home-track bully

Whatever it is bro. Whatever it is. He has dominated QEA for the last 4 seasons, the national T20 cup, the PSL and our LA tournaments, be it this or the Pakistan Cup. He is a beast at domestic level. An absolute monster. Pakistan's Mark Ramprakash.

Kamran's international career might have panned out better had he been able to play on flat, home tracks in Pakistan.

Its unlikely he'll return with Arthur's insistence on fitness being criteria for selection and desire to blood younger players.

What a great innings, regardless of the conditions/opposition quality etc. I am against him returning to the Pakistan side however, as he has shown time and time again he struggles to replicate this type of form on the International circuit.
