You know things are really bad for you when you get dropped by your domestic side in a competition where the standard and quality is very poor. He has also been released by Quetta Gladiators. Extremely sad fall from grace from someone who was once regarded as the best batting talent in the country and was compared to Kohli from 2011-2014.

Usually talented quality players especially batters always manage to retain their quality from inception to the end of their careers barring some decline in reflexes and youth but Umar Akmal now looks so pathetic with the bat, its as if he has forgotten how to bat completely and is no better than a tail ender. His Strike Rate is now no longer international standard

As I said in the national t20 cup thread, he looks a genuine no 9 these days. He scared of the ball, very slow reflexes, doesn't get in line. I mean it just looks embarrassing how awful he has become.

Even more troubling is to see he has accepted his wasted fate. His elder brother Kamran at least kept plugging at it in domestic cricket and still looked good domestic quality wise till the end of his career. Umar will not even get in a village club side on his present form and physical state.

I agree kamran akmal was dominating the domestic scene I can bet even now Kamran akmal will fare far better than him at domestic level. Umar akmal should just retire and do something else he is well past it. I would also like to mention I have never seen such a decline in a batsmen, who's in their early 30s.

These two brothers always ignite issues in the Pakistan team, so it's better to keep them away from cricket.
