What's new

Karachi Kings (175/7) defeat Quetta Gladiators (119/9) by 56 runs in a one-sided encounter in Match 8 of PSL X

I cannot remember a PSL that was this boring.

Number of exciting Pak players: 0
Number of close/competitive matches: 0

I didn't even watch the first innings but a look at the scorecard suggested that it'd be a close match & then Quetta started batting or whatever you call it that they are doing.

Pathetic innings from Saud Shakeel especially since he is the captain. As a Quetta Gladiator sponsor i will be absolutely furious and demand he be sacked as captain.

Tbf, even Vince and Warner did tuktuk on this wicket.

But they pressed on, Warner got out trying to accelerate and Vince accelerated at the end. Saud in comparison is blocking and happy to remain not out. Extremely selfish cricket

Good yorkers from Jamal. Hopefully he can regain his pace and bowling form. Will be impossible to keep him out despite parchis. :faheem

this quetta hat where it says "it's burger o'clock" really annoys me
make the players look like they are working at a fast food chain instead of playing cricket
....
actually, they might as well...

Shan Masood dropped from 11
Faheem Ashraf tonked
Hassan Nawaz ensured binary coding
Saud class failed
=≈===============

All in all bad day for @Rana

Davey Warnerr has instilled a new belief in KK and players like Hassan Ali in particular

really strange stuff, in his first PSL game he looked like AB D Villiers scooping and reversing.

today he's doing tuk tuk

amir showing more intent than him

What's Ironic is that Warner does not considers Shan Masood as a player who fits in his scheme of things :ramiz

Why Pakistanis ask “1 for the over” every time they connect with all short ball?

What's concerning is this PSL X is completely lopsided no thrill no drama ,teams fell flat like a pensioner trying to revert his younger days 🤔

back from the dead?

Is Wasim Jr. part of QG squad? and if yes how come he is on the bench and Faheem is playing?

Hasan Ali is bowling with some real fire

This innings has been absolutely pathetic by Saud

Played all the way up to 20 overs, but could not even get a 50

Pathetic selfish batsman

QG need to sort this out

They have a championship team that can take down IU

You can’t do it with Saud I’m afraid.

I remember Mumbai Indians appointed Ricky Ponting as captain for their 2013 season and they marketed the opening pair of Ponting, Tendulkar heavily for the Franchise which got the fans excited. But Ponting struggled badly in the first few games but then took the selfless decision to drop himself from the team and let someone else take his place and captain.

Gora culture of putting the team first over their own individual needs is so appreciated. Wish our subcontinent players had the same culture and attitude.

Lol hahah midget saud played the worst knock in psl history.

He opened the batting and stayed till the end and played 40 balls for his blistering 33.
What kind of loser player is he.
Zero class zero skill.
He is very low class player.
He is way too overrated for such an average player.
He missed a run out and dropped a dolly

How come this loser saud has so many fans. He has zero performance and always looks meek and scared and obviously not much skills either.

How can a captain and opener played this kind of inning??? This inning of Saud remind me of Sunil Gavaskar inning of 37 not out while chasing..this is absolutely unacceptable in today's era. He should be dropped based on this inning. That's a looser mentality and full of selfishness. U can't progress with this mindset. U need to go for win

He’s not getting any real response from his overseas pros either

This is why Watson/Russow combo was good. You can’t have these freshies running the show.

I'm sick and tired of senior Pakistani batsmen who once they become captain of a team proceed to hog top order spots they're simply unsuited for because they know damn well they don't have the ability to bat at an adequate SR elsewhere in the order.

Babar and Rizwan have done it for years and now Saud has joined the club. They would not be T20 openers for any top franchise or international side period.

he’s only learning from those who were made legends this way by the nation.

The precedent was created. Saud will argue that why should he be forced to change even though Babar and Rizwan will still continue in their franchises as openers?

Saud Shakeel in a post match interview:

Q: Saud, you can explain it best — you were batting out there for 20 overs, but faced only 40 balls. How would you summarize this chase?

Saud Shakeel:
"Yes, definitely. The pitch had become a bit on the slower side, and the ball wasn’t really coming onto the bat. I think they bowled really well and used the conditions smartly. They stuck to their plans effectively. And there are some days like this where, as a batting unit, luck just doesn’t go your way.
Some shots went straight into the hands of fielders, so overall, I think this is one of those days we just need to forget."

Q: This is your second defeat — the previous one was by 69 or 79 runs. As captain, what do you think needs to be addressed first as a team?

Saud Shakeel:
"What’s clearly standing out is that you can’t lose the game in the powerplay itself. If you lose five wickets in the powerplay, you’re completely out of the game. This happened in the last match too — we lost three to four wickets early. So I think this is the most important issue we need to focus on."

Q: Coming to the bowling side — when you bowled first, there were some misfields, some missed opportunities. So overall, I guess you’d want the team to move forward and now focus on the upcoming matches?

Saud Shakeel:
"Exactly, like I said before — there are days like this that, as a team, you have to forget and move on.
We now have a 5–6 day gap, which gives us a lot of time to sit, reflect, and come up with new plans.
We need to make sure we use this time wisely."
