Karachi Kings should appoint Imad Wasim as their captain

With Malik and Bopara having had a dismal outing as captains during the first season I thinh its high time that they appoint Imad as the skipper.
Afterall he is the next big thing in the world T20s and as they say....
THERE IS A BIT OF A SWAGGER ABOUT HIM
 
That would be a step in the right direction for KK.

Imad was impressive in one of the T20 tournaments he captained in and he has experience as captain from U19 days, so it wouldn't be decision that is completely out of the blue.
 
Bring Afridi home and make him captain :D

I would say Sarfaraz but he's already in Karachi's 2nd team so he's fine there
 
It will be a very good decision.I believe that he also has mental toughness to captain the team.And he should be the vice captain of ODI team when Sarfaraz takes over as captain of the ODI team.

I have doubts about his fitness otherwise he is good.
He is a thinking cricketer which unfortunately is a rare breed in Pakistan setup
 
I was amazed when isb did not opt for him during the auction. Having emerged from the renowned Islamabad club cricket this "diamond" cricketer was a must buy for the Utd
 
Brother,I have little idea about his fitness.I saw him during matches but did not find anything negative about his fitness.The plus point is that he is well educated.This will help him in managing the team.

He is a thinking cricketer; that's a rare trait in Pakistani cricketers.
That's his biggest attribute
 
Excellent Suggestion.

He was the best Tachtician when he captained Islamabad in Domestic T20 Cup a year ago.
 
Shobby or Imad either would work. Matter of picking mentor or student. Kind of like KP and Sarfraz relationship from last psl.

I get where you're coming from. His 'popularity' is always welcome, and he is a Karachi-wala.

But don't wanna choke again :danish, so better for us that he stays at Zalmi.

There was a strong possibility but now all is well between PZ and Afridi. They had a fallout and ARY started sponsoring Afridi's foundation and talked to him about being captain with more authority than anybody. He was ready until he patched up with Javed Afridi.

Well that's what the owners said

Nadeem Omar said last year that he wanted Karachi but was outbid but will proceed as if it is still Karachi and make Sarfaraz his captain and then bring Karachi boys Anwar and Shafiq. And then appoint Moin another Karachi relation of his as coach.

Ofcourse Islamabad has as many Karachiites (maybe more) but I won't make this claim there because the Karachiites there were signed for tactical and cricket reasons whereas in Quetta it's not cricketing in case of the trio and the coach

So I suggest you take up this issue with him.

All PSL team captains should be Pakistani cricketers ideally.

Babar Azam
Mohammad Aamir
Sharjeel Khan
 
Imad's time will come and I agree with those that say the captains of the teams should be Pakistani.

Really? Karachi's captain is a Punjabi. Coach is an australian/saffer. What does that make Karachi to be? Such kind of logic is pretty dumb.

Owners saying anything does not mean anything, slog. Stop trying to undermine teams by calling them Karachi B team or something because Karachi was itself trash whereas the so called 2nd team reached the finals.

True Karachi is team is made up majority of Punjab Players and they finished at bottom of the table alongside Lahore. I think there might be a pattern there,

Obviously, otherwise, the hub of talented cricketers in Pakistan wouldnt have been at the bottom. Its all punjabis fault, right. Always undermining the talented, hardworking karachities who would have won KK the PSL and Pakistan 10 world cups. :sree

He has right temperament , right age, right experience, right communication skill and right form and fitness, would be a right call to make him captain.
 
Once again He has proved that He is the best captain.
[MENTION=136113]Barragan[/MENTION] and I spotted him as best tactician in 3rd last domestic T20 tournament when he captained Islamabad Leopards.

Salman Iqbal must learn quickly.
 
Don't think Sangakara should retain KK captaincy. Imad or Babar should be given captaincy. Should try to develop future leaders from the PSL.

Look at how in the IPL Rohit, Raina, and Kohli are made captains .

In that case IU should bring Imad to IU and give him the reigns.


Kk will make a poor move if they hand over captaincy to Afridi. With age Afridi's captaincy declined. In 2010 2011 He was a better Tactician barring those ugly scenes in Aus. Babar shouldn't be given captaincy. Every performing player is not Captaincy material. We must learn from the World.

Doubt Karachi will let Imad go though.

Yes Afridi is a poor tactician. Marketing reasons is why Afridi will be made captain.

Can't say Babar isn't captaincy material until he is given a chance.

Captaincy isn't tested this way. You see certain leadership qualities and insight of the game and than give the oppurtunity.


There is a reason for some behind some great SA AUS WI players never given captaincy even at domestic levels.

Well judging Babars batting so far he clearly has insight in the game . As he gets older I'm sure he'll sure become more confident in the dressing room.

It's only a T20 league so I don't see a harm in giving him a chance.

Captaincy isn't batting related.

When you are in a squad of 16 your Captain, Manager & Coach observe your leadership qualities in dfessing room, in pre and post match team meetings, suggestions given by players etc.

This is how other nations will select a captain.

Pakistan don't really do this otherwise Azhar and Afridi would have remained captains for so long.
