hoping the mighty afghans can put up a good show

no no i want my favourite kenya to win this one.
tikolo, odoyo, waters and aga in team,so now team is strong.

I like both teams but because Afghanistan have had a fine tour I want them to carry on and win 2-1

Btw stronger teams like Pakistan and West Indies should definitely play against these countries and Ireland/Scotland as well, makes for an interesting contest

no telecast mate,only commentry.:ibutt

In Test match there was no commentary from freakin cricket info :(
maybe there will be no commentary this time also :( they did not had anything for last matches of Zimbabwe vs Ireland so i dont think so but lets hope so there will commentary.
The most skilled and luckiest will win in Cricket u must have both ;) so lets see who has more luck this match .

Cricinfo are losers--these are INTERNATIONALS and deserve commentary. They had live commentary for IPL, CLT20, Australia and India first-class matches, can you believe it? Talk about priorities

We have to be fair though.

ESPN is only looking at the financial side of things while running Cricinfo.

Indian first class matches draw more hits then any Kenya-Afghan match would draw. This is the unfortunate truth and we all have to accept it.

They probably don't want to pay money for someone to commentate on a match no one will follow. At least, this is how I see their thought process being.

Can't disagree with your sentiments, though. International matches should all be receiving proper and wholesome coverage from Cricinfo. As there is a reason for them receiving international status.

cricinfo should do justice with all teams, they all are international games.

afghanistan's bowling will be too good for kenya and the kenyan bowlers will get punished by some of the afghan batsmen. no contest.

Hamid Hassan, Noor Ali, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Nabi, Shapoor Zadran, nowraz mangal,

all very good players...saw them in Dubai Sports City during the T20 WC qualifiers..very decent team who respect their captain.

55/1 after 16.2 overs..kenya

hamid hassan gets the first breakthrough

Does Collin Obuya play as a specialist batsman? Havnt seen him bowl in many games. Quite a contrast to his breakthrough performance in 2007 WC with the ball

hamid hassan get another one after the drinks break...

62/2 now after 18.5 overs

collins obuya doesnt have an imprssive bowling record anyway...average bowler ^^^^

Are these international matches being shown live anywhere? If they are, Cricinfo will have the commentary for sure, but unfortunately I don't think these games are televised.

On your point about live commentary for IPL, CLT20, Australia and India first-class matches, IPL and CL matches are shown live, and only those domestic matches in India and Australia have commentary which are shown live!!

kenya are crumbling under pressure.....144/7 with mirwais ashraf and samiullah shenwari doing the damage.

Kenya all out in 46.2 overs
4 wickets for Mirwais Ashraf 10 2 35 4 3.50
4 wickets Hamid Hasan 8.2 4 26 4 3.12
2 for Samiullah shenwari 10 0 43 2 4.30

* Mirwais is allrounder
* 4/26 for Hamid in this match so far this is his career best

Hamid Hassan is a brilliant bowler....was really impressed with him when i saw him for the first time...

collins have problem while bowling,so he give up it in 2005.
Now he play as a batsman.

Kenya 180 (46.2 ov)

Afghanistan 88 (27.5 ov)

kenya wins,superb performance by kenya.

Thomas Odoyo is indeed minnows legend and had he been the part of a better unit he could have been in the top 3 all rounders in world cricket.

Afghanistan slide to massive defeat

Kenya 180 (Tikolo 57, Kamande 31, Hassan 4-26, Ashraf 4-35) beat Afghanistan 88 (Zadran 41, Odhiambo 3-16) by 92 runs

ust days after humbling Kenya in an Intercontinental Cup fixture in Nairobi, Afghanistan were at the receiving end of a thrashing themselves, sliding to 92-run defeat against the same opponents in the first of three ODIs in Nairobi. It was a low-scoring contest with both batting line-ups collapsing after promising starts to their innings had appeared to put them on a stable path.

Kenya chose to bat and openers Seren Waters and David Obuya were involved in a steady stand of 55. David's brother Collins and Steve Tikolo, Kenya's most experienced player, took after the openers were dismissed, consolidating the innings to a healthy 139 for 2 in the 35th over. Tikolo eased to a half-century, his 23rd in ODIs, and the situation looked promising for the hosts but things soon fell apart.

Mirwais Ashraf, the medium-pacer, triggered the slide, bowling Tikolo and accounting for Collins Obuya and Maurice Ouma in a space of two overs. Legspinning allrounder Samiullah Shenwari strangled the innings from the other end with a couple of wickets, including Thomas Odoyo, who, like Tikolo, has been a part of the Kenyan set-up since the 1996 World Cup. From 139 for 2, Kenya slid to 145 for 8. It was captain Jimmy Kamande who rose to the occasion, resisting with the lower order to make 31 and inducing an element of respectability to the score, extending it to 180.

As it turned out, Kenya had made enough well before the collapse ensued as Afghanistan's woes proved worse. Things appeared to be on track when the openers had added 33 but their start set a deceptive tone for the innings. Once Karim Sadiq was run out in the eighth over, the Kenya bowlers attacked ruthlessly to derail Afghanistan. Noor Ali Zadran, Sadiq's opening partner, was left stranded amid the relentless fall of wickets at the other end, as none of the other batsmen who followed Sadiq's departure reached double-figures. Medium-pacer Nehemiah Odhiambo, who has five relatives involved in cricket in Kenya, grabbed three wickets, supported by offspinner James Ngoche and Odoyo, who picked up two each. Afghanistan folded for a humiliating 88 to trail 0-1 in the three-match series

now need to seal the series with win in next match.

good work from Tikolo, Odoyo and Commander Kamande

Also nice to see Hamid hassan and Mirwais Ashraf do well with the ball

Afghanistan is like Pakistan , Bowling is world class and Batting is No class .

@afghanfan
match is playing on another wicket.looks like pitch is bad for batting.
Afghan is a solid team.

Why Only Pakistan and WI?

Is Because, They are currently Lowest Ranking teams among top test playing Nations???

Well, If you want them to Improve, then They need to Improve their Administration with accommodation first.. Because, these are Most Important Things To produce new and more Raw talents..

And About Pakistani Talents.. Well, Pakistan Produces Talents because of the Passion of the Whole nation for the Game of Cricket.

Teams like Scotland, Ireland will Never be the Top Sides in International Cricket Because, Whenever They get some highest Quality talents, they loose those talents because, England eat them.. Latest Example is Eoin Morgan.

Afghanistan Doing very well among the Associate nations because, Physically they are pretty Strong Pathans. And some of them grown in the Refugee camp in Pakistan Played Cricket in and around Pakistan.

They are certainly More Hard working Team than India Pakistan.

Hope they will come out as a powerful cricketing nation within next 10yrs...

Afghanistan have not played a test match with Kenya.. It was FC match...

Afghanistan is doing well.. Hope they continue their Good form..

But give some Respect to Kenya as they are better sporting Nations than India Pakistan and for sure Afghanistan too..

How Come?

Because, Kenya, Have Played, Cricket, And Rugby World Cup and also have a good team for Football though they never played football world cup.

That proofs they are better Sporting nation than we sub-continental Nations..

Sorry Bro, Can't Agree with you totally.. If these same teams would play a match in an official ICC tournaments, then Cricinfo would surely use their Commentary team to run the live commentary.

Then why not for Official ODI's certified by ICC.

Do you really think, Indian FC matches has real good demand???? well how?? I never saw anyone coming to the field to see a FC match if they are not relatives of those match players and Match Officials and Grounds men.

I am OK with IPL and CLT20 as because, There are some International Flavor is available as International Stars attend those Events.

And How come its an ODI, if its not televised?? as its one of the first condition of ICC to have a broadcasting rights for any ODI series to be declared as ODI series..
