Kissan Relief Package-Biggest Pre-Poll rigging by PMLN

The Prime Minister recently announced a Rs 341 billion relief package for farmers at Kissan Convention held in Islamabad on Tuesday. The package envisages direct cash assistance to the farmers, relief in prices of agriculture inputs, provision of agriculture loans and simplying the procedure of loans.

However, opposition parties have criticised the move, terming it pre-poll rigging.

What are your opinion about it as this package was announced just days before 'Local Govt Elections' in Sindh & especially Punjab.

What I am saying why now, why not three months earlier during budget.

Because they dont care about Kisaan Hari etc. They did because of PTI focused on Kisaan. Similar to how youngsters were joining and looking at PTI in pre 2013 election and Punjab government decided to use laptop.

In the end half of this amount will be used to pay circular debt of IPPs which are about to explode in media. So back to square one.

My only issue is why it wasn't announced in this budget? Yeh inko 3 budget guzerne ke baad bethe bethe khayal aa gaya or wo be just before LB elections? Well this is nothing new from PMLN or PPP they have used these tactics enough time in past.

I guess you guys missed another news PPP sindh govt announced 150 billion rupees development fund for Karachi just before the elections so looks dono parties waale bhai trying their best to buy votes.

Improving the railway infrastructure, building hospitals, education, poverty reduction, investment in neglected areas such as Balochistan are to name just a few areas that could have been invested in.

That's the point 3 budgets under this govt and no love for Kissans and just before LG elections you announce it without mentioning it in this year budget.

Its a desperate populist move but terming it rigging is equally desperate. Populist regimes the world over routinely pull rubbish like this, throwing public funds down the drain, but to call it rigging reeks of desperation.

I have doubt over budgets too. When you do not know your population how can someone prepares budget? Every year people get excited about budget but no one bothers to check the actual results the budgeted ones.
