LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Thursday ordered the authorities to public the inquiry report into the Model Town tragedy.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) had reserved its judgment over a petition seeking directives for Punjab government to make the inquiry report into the Model Town tragedy public.

A petition was filed for the release of a judicial inquiry report carried out by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi into the killings of Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) workers in 2014.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri had repeatedly demanded that the Justice Baqir Najfi Commission report on the Model Town tragedy be made public.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was declared responsible for the incident by the report, he accused.

On June 17, 2013, at least 14 workers of PAT were killed, while scores of others were injured in deadly police crackdown outside Minhajul Quran’s secretariat in Model town.

Final nail in Sharif's political coffin?

If there is nothing in it why SS and co made sure the report is never made public?

Expecting Punjab govt to knock SC door after this decision to delay this decision...

So was this report ever made public in the end ?

Is this matter in the hands of the judiciary , or are there any steps that PM Imran Khan can take to ensure speedy justice is done on the model town issue and those behind it are sent to Adiyala, and not sitting in parliament. What actions realistically can the PM take ?
