LAHORE: The petrol shortage has hit Lahore hard, causing commuters to face hardships as almost half of the city's fuel stations remained closed.
Hundreds of cars and motorcycles were lined outside the city's fuel stations where petrol was available.
Cars were being sold petrol up to a limit of Rs 500 while motorcycles were being allowed to buy petrol up to Rs 100.
Almost half of the city's petrol stations remained closed with signboards outside stating there was no fuel available.
Petrol pump owners laid the blame on marketing companies, claiming that there was shortage of the fuel due to companies curtailing the supply.
Lahore consumes almost 30,000,00 liters of petrol on a daily basis. 13,00,000 liters were supplied to the city on Wednesday.
Dealers are of the view that if the supply of petrol is not increased then it would start a crisis that would engulf the whole country.
