The PSL 2025 Eliminator features an intense battle between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium. Last time they faced off here, the Kings stunned the home crowd by chasing 168 in just 15 overs, winning by four wickets.

Since then, the Qalandars have had mixed results. Their batting struggled in the league finale, but the bowlers delivered, defending a low 149 against Peshawar for a vital win. With two wins in four Lahore games—one affected by rain—the home team has shown they can step up when needed.

Karachi Kings struggled in their last league game, falling short in a tough 252-run chase against Islamabad. However, they entered that match with confidence, having secured three consecutive wins, including a key victory over Lahore earlier in the tournament.

Karachi Kings: David Warner, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, James Vince, Khushdil Shah, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Shan Masood, Arafat Minhas, Mir Hamza, Tim Seifert, Zahid Mehmood, Fawad Ali, Riazullah, Kane Williamson, Mohammad Nabi, Omair Bin Yousuf, Mirza Mamoon.

Lahore Qalandars: Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Kusal Perera, Sikandar Raza, Abdullah Shafique, Jahandad Khan, Zaman Khan, Asif Afridi, Asif Ali, Muhammad Akhlaq, Rishad Hossain, Mohammad Azab, Momin Qamar, Mohammad Naeem, Sam Billings, Salman Ali Mirza, Tom Curran.

Rishad Hossain returns to Lahore Qalandars ahead of crucial Eliminator

Lahore, May 22, 2025: Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has rejoined the Lahore Qalandars squad after completing his national duty and will be available for selection in the much-anticipated PSL 2025 Eliminator against Karachi Kings.

Rishad has made an immediate impression in his debut season with Lahore Qalandars, bringing energy and control to the bowling attack. In just five matches, he had taken 9 wickets at an average of 16.44, highlighting his ability to strike in key moments.

His return is a timely boost for the Qalandars as they prepare for a high-stakes encounter in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Cricket is well and truly buried in this country. Even a Lahore-Karachi knockout match in Lahore cannot attract many spectators.

Karachi parchi Saad baig still being persisted with. Definitely has strong connections. Arafat Minhas batting alone is better than him.

Well, Rawalpindi had fantastic crowds

Karachi and Lahore have been hugely disappointing

Time to develop smaller city stadia like Multan, Faisalabad etc

These big city crowds have been hugely embarrassing and disappointing

How bad must Omair Bin Yousuf be in the pecking order if KK would rather play Saad at 4 even though they have Fawad Ali in the emerging category?

Omair is light years ahead of this parchi Saad. Even out of from omair will do far better he's not a parchi like Saad.

Don’t think the wicket is as good as yesterday’s

180-190 will be enough

Lahore bowled poorly

Pindi stadium has 10k capacity while labore and nsk have 40k

fielding standars in the PSL is a joke. people say that the standards in the psl are the 2nd best in the world. give me a break. we are probably on par with the Caribbean Premier League.

Lahore have been shambolic. Don't see them chasing this unless one of the openers scores a century. The middle order is untested and doesn't look too promising.

At least 40 free runs for KK

You don’t need to give that kind of initiative in a knockout

KK seriously need to sort out their middle order issue.

Seems like the batting will definitely suffer a slump as soon as you lose 2 wickets

Can't understand why they have persisted with Saad. He killed the momentum today. Omair might not be a big hitter but would definitely have been a better choice.

could not agree more, Saad hasn't done anything, even in domestic, that would jsutify his place in the playing XI. I would get it if he was the only keeper; but Seifert is there....

fakhar has such an ugly technique (especially for a left hander), but his hand-eye coordination is so good that it compensates.

I love him as a player, don't get me wrong. But I don't think I've come across a lefty with such ugly-terrible technique. Fawad Alam comes close but Fakhar's technique is much more ugly

That kind of makes it even worse, playing a specialist keeper as a batter when you already have options like Omair or even Minhas.

He's a parchi and seems to have good connections. He was also one of the worst u19 player from the previous batch.

Babar has never played an innings like Shafique is the PSL. Eliminator chasing a high total. Clutch performance.

Shafique played well in the ODI WC against Lanka when we needed to chase 330+, decent under pressure but only in Asian conditions.

Lahore innings shows how flat the pitch is and how badly KK played despite getting countless breaks. It seemed even Warner didn't trust his batsmen the way he held himself back.

Also Galle test against Lanka where he batted through to win it in the fourth innings. Also was player of the match in a psl final too. He does not buckle.

Easily our best all format batting talent. If only he can manage his confidence issues.

In test 42 innings , he averaged 38 , with 5 hundreds.

In OD 24 innings he averages 31 with strike rate of 79.

I would say an average player by international standards.

I hope he can be a little more consistent in test matches and push his average towards mid 40 s.

Karachi have been hopeless today. Lahore's fielding is the only reason they have been competitive. Couldn't make use of Lahore's bad bowling and now even a washed up player like Perera is tonking them around. Also why hasn't Khushdil bowled today? Unless he is out of the ground can't think of any reason why he hasn't bowled. Even Shaheen turned to Naeem and that says a lot about Warner' captaincy.
