Lahore Qalandars: Lahore came out knowing they needed to win this game, yet played completely carelessly. The first three batsmen were in the dug out by the end of only 16 balls. Lahore needed Maqsood to find his form and Akmal to fire again and luckily for them both played a superb role in their recovery with fifties and Lahore made a very good total of 150, scoring almost a 100 off their last ten overs.

Islamabad United: Islamabad lost two early wickets hoever they rallied superbly led by Haddin's blitz and an excellent fifty. However, as has been their story so far in the PSL, a mini collapse, mix ups included, led to a collapse from 2 down to 5 down. However led by Haddin and then Misbah they comfortably chased the total down, the latter especially playing a superb aggressive cameo.

Match summary:For Lahore it has been a disaster, a decent squad but very poor performances see them exit the first ever PSL. Zafar Gohar and Umar Akmal especially are the two positives for them. Islamabad will grow in confidence, from being a poor side initially they have grown into this tournament and are now proving a handful under Misbah's captaincy, and will also fancy their chances.

Who/how many catches were dropped by Lahore?

I only saw the Zia one at the very end.

This team had TERRIBLE fielding all throughout and a mediocre bowling "attack."

Must say, shameful that Malik had an infinitely better squad and still landed them down in the bottom with Lahore

What a strange feeling when you support Islamabad United and want them to win the PSL and still pray due to Umar Akmal mainly and good man Azhar Ali on a side note that may Islamabad lose and Lahore qualify.

The charm of watching Umar Akmal who has matured after taking 6 years the tempt to watch him bat and see him succeeding is immense.

As a cricket fan who has followed some cricket in 90's and all cricket 2000 onwards I have never ever wished the team I supported to lose any match in any scenario but this PSL has brought Strange feelings and strange cricketing wishes to come out.

What a bad day it was for Azhar Ali & Umar Akmal where today the Same Misbah when 90 % fit in last 5 games had a Strike rate of 115 and today when he was limping like a loola langrha 35% fit only limping like never seen before scored 30+ runs at SR of 200 which I think has not happened in last 20 years.

To All the Azhar haters. I also criticise Azhar Ali he has lacked in captaincy internationally but you all have needlessly criticised him in PSL. Hawa k doash pe jidhar Hawa k rukhh udhar hogaey k team haar rai bash him. Last game his captaincy was absolutely perfect. It was right to give Zohaib last over. It was also correct decision to bowl out Ehsan n Cooper earlier as wickets were needed and runs needed to be contained than. There was Dew but it would have been there fie delport too who would have struggled to bowl slower ones and yorkers more than Zohaib. Zohaib's miss field was turning point where zulfiqar got off strike. Was it due to Azhar Ali that he could not stop regulation bowlers back zulfiqar's push ? And than next ball Zohaib's plan to bowl wide darting yorker was right but he bowled too wide (ball did not slip from hand) and than half fit Bravo made a mess of it on boundary. Azhar's captaincy was fine.

Today also Azhar's captaincy was fine. Bowling changings and field placings were fine. Zia ul Haq bowled a rubbish over to misbah conceding e fours against 35 % fit misbah where any good bowler would have bowled dots to blocker misbah on good length outside off. Than still lahore were in game when Zia messed a catch of Misbah which should have been taken and Lahore still could have won with Tail being exposed.
But it's a fashion to run over slightly subdued captain Azhar Ali sharif aadmi or bash Umar Akmal day night over rash shots.
If Lahore or Pakistan team has poor bowling options than ye bhee Azhar Ali ka Kasur hai. Criticise where it's due. Don't make it a fashion to criticise captain needlessly. If fielders fail or bowlers cannot execute plan than don't bash Azhar Ali.
This nation deserves budtameez budlehaaz arrogant captain who hits a junior poor player with his bat deliberstely and than do acting of apologising. Agar ye 20 saal k ghareeb shoaib akhtar k saath kerta (awall jurist na kerta) kerta tou uss ne issi ballay se sir phaarh dena tha.

How would you justify Azhar not bowling Zafar at all against Zalmi and giving him just one over against Gladiators?
Also, did Qalandars play Cooper and Rasool as sepecialist fielders yesterday?

Cooper was banned from bowling. If bowl is wet than Zafar has tendency for going for 15 or 20 plus runs in an over which was observed not only in PSL but also in last domestic T20 tournament. Zafar will take time to develop into an accurate bowler with control over his line and length. This is also an eye opener for those who rate Zafar higher than Asghar. Mir Hamza was also not given the ball to bowl for the same reason by shoaib Malik. Why lahore played adnan & Zafar ? because they did not know that they will be bowling second and they would only score 150. There was also no option on the bench. Azhar is far from being an excellent or ideal captain but he isn't as worst as he is made to look. Dropped catch of Misbah , rubbish bowling by Zia in his last over and Bravo not scoring quick enough in last over were the main reasons of defeat. Despite 1 odd good inning on a belter , Azhar by no way is a T20 player. Next year he won't be picked in PSL and it would be a wise move. He should not be picked.

I hope PCB took note from whats happen in PSL and Azhars captaincy so far in the ODI team. Whilst no one is a born captain and sometimes it takes time to grow into a role, its clearly apparent here that Azhar doesn't have a clue what he is doing especially in the field and with his bowling resources. Time for Pakistan to see sense and get a captain in who isn't just their to toss the coin and then offer nothing else to his team.

I have to surrender most part of my argument to be true because I could not follow 75 % of yesterday's match which hasn't been like in the past.

I rate naveed Yasin buy I think in first two matches he was misused by management batting way down than he was dropped and when he made a comeback at number 3 he played 2 quality cricketing shots buy was nervous and under huge pressure to deliver and he could not cope with it but than should not have been dropped next game.

I am a supporter of Umar Akmal but give me a chance to say that the worst pick of PSL was Adnan Rasool. He has had nil , zero , Aanda performance in T20 , List A & Fc cricket in last 1 year and his pick was a terrible one. Than him getting picked despite rubbish PSL figures of neither picking wickets nor being economical is a shoddy one but he was so so lucky to be in emerging players category at official age of 34. If you follow twitter than in most pics you will see Adnan Rasool with Akmals almost all the time. Either he is khushaamdi or a big juggatbaaz to entertain Akmals.

I have played lots of cricket and have watched lots of cricket to know players psyche. This lahore team wasn't gelled well. Bravo and Umar Akmal don't seem to get along well as there seems a rivalry where both consider themselves to be superior than the other.

Bravo in his last two innings has played nothing innings wrt T20 cricket where pitches and match situation demanded 180 to 200 SR from a foreign high profile signing he was way short of the mark.

In the 2nd last game Umar Akmal denied him a second run rightly so as he was middling the ball much better and hit next 2 balls for six and was blazing along but in the 18th ot 19th over (don't remember correctly) Bravo denied Umar Akmal a second run when it was on just to return the favours. This is just not On. After the innings Bravo patted him on the back for his innings but Umar did not look at him and was furious from inside.

Umar did the same yesterday and the next ball went for six and Bravo again repeated the same thing but not running quick enough for a shot Umar played down the ground.

These things are not good for any team. I did not observe this in any other team of PSL.

Bravo made just 13 runs of the 12 balls he faced where a player of his calibre should have scored atleast 20 to 30 runs in that situation and only Umar's onslaught resulted in Lahore scoring 150 otherwise it should have been 160 or 165.

Despite Azhar not giving the ball to Cooper and Rasool lahore were very much in the game with 35 % fit limping misbah on the crease and Zia bowled 3 rubbish deliveries to leak 12 runs in 3 balls and than the catch he did not attempt of Misbah with only Tail of Islamabad left to bat. So Azhar cannot do anything about it.

I cannot comment that whether Lahore's playing eleven is picked on voting system between 4 figures in dressing room or whether it has more say of Azhar in it.

Azhar's captaincy was poor in 1st odi against NZ where NZ were 98-6 and he did not have slip nor enough fielders in the ring for tailenders and he let them slip from the hands and than rubbish bowling by our pacers in death. There Azhar needs to be blamed surely but here everybody is just going over the board against Azhar because

A : He isn't a T20 player

B : He is subdued Sharif Aadmi


My point is that don't put everything on his captaincy. If players fail to execute plans or to deliver as per there potential than captain is not responsible for that.

If Azhar is not confident on the containing abilities of Zafar Gohar in T20 cricket than he should not have been selected in the first place. This also is an evidence of disharmony among the management and senior players.

Lastly Kevon played as a specialist fielder to fulfil 4 foreign players signing and they did not bowl him because had he been reported than his IPL and other leagues participation would have been threatened aswell because than he had to undergo rehab and testing etc.
