Left Arm Chinaman bowler : Mirza Ahsan Jamil

Any update on him? He was playing grade II cricket recently after a long gap, and in the scorecards that I saw, he was doing quite well. As for the poster saying that he should leave chinaman and adopt slow left arm orthodox, I believe that chinamen may succeed more in limited overs cricket because they bring the ball into right handers, with occasional wrong 'uns very much like the doosra. Look at the ODI stats of Brad Hogg and Dave Mohammed (small sample size) and compare with Daniel Vettori and Rangana Herath.
 
Although I am against hyping up young players, Mirza Ahsan Jamil is one of those players I've been looking forward to watching in the domestic T20 competition. With offspin effectively outlawed, it is time to look towards alternative strategies such as mystery spinners and chinamen. Leg-spinners and slow left armers are more suited to the longer format of the game, so it would be a worthy to invest on someone who brings the ball into the right handers, with occasional wrong 'uns.

he has played for pakistan U-19 and U-22 and was part of pakistan U-19 world cup squad 2008
 
he is playing , karachi has gone with 2 spiners both faraz and ahsan and they are 1 batsmsn short

Had taken 6 wickets in an innings against Abbottabad region! Should be given more chances in future!

Isn't he in the khi squad ? If not than pcb selectors should have adjusted him in any regional squad. He is only notable chinaman in pakistan cricket.

A chinaman is a rare breed of bowler in world cricket, let alone in Pak.

Hope he moves to another regional team and gets more opportunities.

He has got good enough control. Nowhere near Kuldeep but given the spinners we have in domesric barring Nasir, Asghar, Shadab, Usama.... Mirza deserves to be given consistent chances but he is either out of main squads or serving drinks.

I’m afraid the boat may have sailed for him. He had a very potent googly and was a great wicket taker at under 19 World Cup.but Pakistan never developed him.

According to this https://www.pcb.com.pk/match_detail.php?match_id=32591 he also took 6-62 and 6-99 in his previous game :broad.

That stint to Australia seems to have done him some good, but as per Karachi's management he isn't good enough for FC! It would be funny if they weren't playing with careers...

Have a look at what that stint did to Haris Rauf. He is so fit, pacy and accurate now. I believe in ahsan jamil he has a nice googly up his sleeve too. A great injustice has been done to him in Pakistani domestic cricket.

Given he only played only game in the Patron's Trophy last year, that's difficult to believe.

His problem is lack of connections. Last played domestic cricket in 2016 which is a complete joke. Has been taking part in PCB tournaments and performing well but has been getting ignored. Fortunately for him, LQ seem to have picked him up.

[MENTION=9]Saj[/MENTION] he is the highest wicket taker in this year's Patron's Trophy and offers something different. Would be great to get an update from him on how is career is going (how playing grade cricket in Australia was e.t.c...)
