So, I decided to watch a couple of episodes series 1 of Line of Duty on BBC Iplayer, and I ended up binge watching all 5 series.

Is this one of the best UK dramas or what? Gripping story, and overall arc, great characters, and superbly written!

Love this kind of stuff, cannot believe I missed it for so many years! It's The Bill but on a whole new level!

Cannot wait for the next series!

Superlative. I love Jed Mercurio’s writing. Ted Hastings is my hero. There were two fascinating antiheroines played by Keeley Hawes and Thandie Newton. Fascinating to see the little kid Ryan all grown up in the OCG, and entering the City Police.

Each season builds on the last. I suspect Jed wanted to end with season 5. But with 13 million people watching, the BBC twisted his arm. Back in 2021 after the next season of Bodyguard I expect. As Super Ted said “This is starting to feel like a life’s work”.

This is a very good show. Always thrilling and not a dull moment in between. I also binged watched recently.

Luther is an another good British drama. Have not seen the last season but the first few seasons are very good.

Just finished episode 2 of season 2 on the recommendation of my wife.

Loving it

Ted Hastings did not inspire me in early few episodes but Adrian Dunbar reached excellence later. DI Cotton is also played very well. But Keeley Hawes is my favorite performer in the show, she says everything with her eyes! phenomenal actress.

Agreed. Thandie too, I could watch her all day. Those tiny expression changes or tilts of the head conveying so much.

I have followed this show since 2012.

Ted gets his Wyatt Earp moment in 4.6....

I also like Jed’s little nods to the cop shows he watched as a youngster. Polk Avenue Station was in Hill St Blues. Kate and Steve use callsigns 37 and 45 like Bodie and Doyle in The Professionals.

Quality line!

Series 5 episode 5 was the best interrogation! Edge of the seat stuff.

Hastings vs Carmichael. Really good script, really tense performances.

I knew
Jill was H, couldn’t have been anyone else, as soon as she went into Ted’s bathroom I knew she was after his DNA evidence.

Is this like The Bill ? it always seems to pop up every where and it's highly rated among UK shows I guess, have never watched anything though.

One of the great police procedurals!

I miss Lennie James.

Just finished episode 4 of season 2...

So pretty much spent all Sunday watching this show

Will finish season 2 tonight and plough on tomorrow..

The finale of season 3 (feature length) is absolutely epic, doubt they’ll ever top it.

Much more hard-edged, much better writing. Less soapy. It’s about an anti-corruption unit struggling to put away bent coppers and finding that the onion has more and more layers, and that the bent coppers are part of a conspiracy of crooked business interests, politicians and celebrities.

The scene with Lindsay and Dot in the car is the tensest thing I ever saw on television. Revelations come tumbling out in seconds, while the reverse dolly shot of the speeding car seems to accelerate toward the confrontation between Lindsay who has nothing to lose and therefore fearless, while Dot has the power but everything to lose and is terrified.
