Here I am listing in order of merit pairs of batsmen who when rolled into one compromised the most perfect batsmen. Only pairs who have batted together have been chosen. Considered technical correctness and power blended with grace or creativity.

1. Everton Weekes- Frank Worrell

What could be more aesthetic than the unparalleled power of Weekes taking an attack to mercy as though performing a combing operation with Worrell caressing bowling with the grace of the touches of a painter brush.

2. Gary Sobers-Rohan Kanhai

Perfect blending of grace with power and technical skill.Kanhai took originality to unexplored regions while Sobers hit the ball harder than anyone in his time.

3. Zaheer Abbas-Javed Miandad

The elegance and artistry of Zaheer with the rebellious or do or die spirit of Javed was sport's ultimate spectacle. Reminiscent of a poet with a soldier.

4. Ian Chappell-Greg Chappell

Ian took combative skill to its greatest height in his time with his rugged style, while brother Greg was elegance and technical correctness personified.

5. Steve Waugh-Mark Waugh

The fortitude of Steve with the elegance and talent of brother Mark, was a true spectacle for fans .A virtual incarnate or Ian-Greg batting together

6. Sunil Gavaskar-Gundappa Vishwanath

Gavaskar was an architect,Vishy was a magician.. Perfect blending of technique with artistry. One hoarder runs, the other sculpted them.

7. Len Hutton-Dennis Compton

The technical perfection and solidity of Hutton with the magical inventiveness of Compton was simply a majestic exhibition.

8. VVS Laxman -Rahul Dravid

The solidity and tenacity of Dravid with the sublime touch of Laxman took cricketing aesthetics to almost unparalleled regions.

9. Geoff Boycott-David Gower

Boycott was boulder and Gower a pianist, out in the middle. Another version of Gavaskar-Vishwanath, batting together.

10. Hashim Amla-AB Devilliers

Amla was the surgeon performing an operation,Devilliers was like a man pulling a house down.

11. Viv Richards-Alvin Kalicharan

The destructive power of Viv with the technical finesse of Kalicharan took cricketing prowess to an unscaled magnitude.

12.Sachin Tendulkar-Mohammad Azharuddin

The flawed genius or magical creativity of Azhar with the technical mastery of Tendulkar was like seeing a musical composer with a sculptor.

Amla-Kallis is one for me. These guys took the game away from an opposition whenever they looked in good touch.

Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes => The best opening pair in test cricket with contrasting styles and consistency. Greenidge probably is a pioneer in bringing aggression to opening test innings.

Add Gary Kirsten and Andrew Hudson to the list and also to some extent Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq.

Sangakkara - Jayawardene has to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing duo in world cricket.

VVS- Dravid and Sanga-Mahela are the two greatest as they took their nation to unbelievable batting heights through sheer impact performances.

PONTING-HAYDEN

Possibly the best ever partnership pair to grace the cricket pitch. Ponting with his grace combined with flair is a ATG batsman who could drive like he was in a Ferrari and pull like a ballerina to inspire Tchaikovsky, Hayden had the power and brute force to dominate bowlers and just force the scoreboard to spin like a cash register, like a champion heavyweight boxer he could overcome everything in his path.

4765 runs @ 67.11 monstered by these two powerhouse batsmen that are the most dominate winning pair ever.

Sanga and Jaya for sure. Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes made an outstanding opening pair scoring runs for fun. Younis and Inzi at their peak too were good together as were Sachin and Vinod Kambli in the very early days of their friendship and cricketing careers. Thereafter Vinod faded away where as Sachin became the GOAT. Lets not forget Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson have scored plenty of runs together in all formats too.
