Cricket Australia says it will monitor the situation in London but remains comfortable with the level of security around the touring Australian squad.

London was again rocked on Saturday by terror, with attacks on London Bridge and nearby Borough Market injuring up to 20 people, and killing at least one.

The Australian side is in England at the moment for the Champions Trophy, and are due to face Bangladesh on Monday at The Oval - not far from Vauxhall, where a third incident, believed to be unrelated, took place on Saturday.

A CA spokesman said the governing body would work with the ICC and tournament organising committee to ensure the Australian party's safety.

"As with the rest of the world, the Australian team is shocked and saddened at the events that have occurred in London overnight and our thoughts are with those directly involved and their loved ones," he said.

"The team, support staff and travelling contingent have been accounted for. Our security team is working closely with the ICC and LOC to ensure the safety and security of our players and support staff is paramount.

"At this stage we are comfortable with the level of security being provided to us and will continue to monitor the situation."

It is not the first time an Australian team has been in England at the time of terror attacks. The Australians were on their 2005 Ashes during the deadly London Underground blasts of 2005. Australian team have also refused to play matches in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the past because of security concerns.

The latest attack on London is the third terrorist incident in England since March. On March 22nd a police officer was fatally stabbed and four others were run over by a car and killed near Westminster's Houses of Parliament.

Then on May 22nd a suicide bomber at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester killed 23 people.

I fully expect them to continue playing CT. They will not withdraw participation.

Since it's Ban v Aus
It is certain that Ban won't leave as to what ECB did to them.
As far as AUS is concerned i am not sure.... they give most importance to security.
My problem is that they will be able to hold CT17 with highest security and all the measures but these bombings might have a serious impact on ENG V SA series... That series is seriously in doubt.

This is freaky stuff to be honest. Didn't know there was defused bomb as well. Praying for the safety of all citizens over there.

Couldn't understand Defused bomb???????
The police defused them.... the british channels are reporting it as controlled bombing.... it was able to cause a noise but didn't cause any damage... the police knew about the bombs already..

Use proper sources.

At the moment some sensationalism is being used so good balanced sources important

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by what has happened in London overnight. The ICC and ECB continue to place safety and security at the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup this summer as the highest priority.

Following last night’s incident all team hotels went into lockdown and teams, match officials and staff were all quickly accounted for. The enhanced security around venues implemented following the Manchester attack remains in place, this includes significantly enhanced police and security presence for today’s match.

We operate on advice from our Tournament Security Directorate - in conjunction with the ECB and relevant police and security authorities - to ensure that we can deliver a safe and secure event. We will continue to work with authorities over the coming hours and days and review our security in line with the threat levels.

The security situation has been very much front and centre of our preparations and we constantly review our procedures to guarantee they are as effective as possible to keep everyone safe.

We do not disclose our security details as a matter of policy
