Yes Mickey. Love that.

Our media do love to cause a commotion.

Im one of his biggest critics but that was a great innings and he should be credited for it..I dont think people realise how good that innings was..

Leave aside what Mickey Arthur said. Absolute non sense from the journalist. I did not see any problem with his stamina. I think he ran really well today.

Not sure what the journalist was talking about. Harris didn't look out of steam at all. Ran doubles at the end as well.

Good reply by Arthur, standing up for his players.

That journalist sure deserved that. All the media thinks about is criticism.

What we learnt from this journalist is firstly he needs English classes to raise his language skills to working proficiency level and secondly he has an agenda against Haris Sohail.

Very true Some people just to love criticise no matter what

Criticising him today is utter nonsense

Mafia media at work. I dunno why poor Harris always gets targeted by media

Well done Mickey.Perfect reply.
His knock was the difference today and we need to realize that.Let's keep the criticism for some other day.

Think some of our journalists would be better off doing stand-up comedy.

Not surprised Mickey showed up todau

Great response by Mickey.

These so-called ā€˜journalists’ need to be shown the door.

Brilliant response. Many idiots aren't aware that best journalism is not about being the fiercest critic but to be the most objective.

The Pakistani media and vocal fanbase (the ones that pop up on forums and social media) are poisonous. I would tell the Pakistani team to never engage with any of them and be as belligerent to the press as India are to theirs.

well, you know, the other day this bloke walked into the xi after sitting out a few games and got a match winning knock, but guess what, i still managed to find faults.... bahahahaha...

As usual, another Pakistani 'fan', this time a journalist, not understanding the very basic premise that having a bit of a belly, doesn't necessarily mean you are unfit. And neither does having low body fat necessarily lead to supreme fitness. The man played brilliantly, never looked tired yet he has to face moronic comments like this. Unbelievable.

I agree with his dots in past and his endurance present but wouldnt mind a lazy Haris at 50-something ball 90 rather than a quick 60 ball 30 Babar sort of Haris.

Amazing that most of the journalists are after our best performing players and don't question the non-performing ones.

I have seen many of these so called journalists speaking rubbish against Mohammad Amir, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail and Imam Ul Haq in recent times, but nothing against their favourites Imad, Malik, Hafeez etc who are actually underperforming.

It not just foolish journalists a large body of fans also seem to jump to the same ill conceived conclusion.

How do we get these journalists in the world cup press conference that speak such pathetic english and ask such retardeddddd questions.... who pays money for these idiots to take a flight here to the world cup? :))

What is happening is that a couple of so-called 'senior' journalists are winding up some of the media and telling them to ask certain questions.

The problem is that after asking those questions, they are looking rather foolish.

Arthur is too pompous for a coach whose team is ranked 6th in ODIs and has played like minnows for two years.

It was a poor question but it could have been dealt with in a more professional manner.

Not really. He answered aggressively to a crazy question.

There are a lot less Pakistan-based journalists at this World Cup compared to the Champions Trophy. That is because this PCB regime is not prepared to pay for free holidays for these journos.

However a few still somehow manage to get through and arrive in the UK with accreditation. Also a few are UK-based working for Pak TV channels.

Really you're going to knock the journalist for his English?
How's about Anglo South African Mickey Arthur who just just said 'inningses' in his response.
Lol.

The journalists and the fans don’t owe him anything. He needs to keep his attitude in check.

Perfect reply to idiots like him. Well deserved. If anything he should be been even more aggressive with his answer.

Journalist deserved that response. Should be more ruthless and could have said there are a bunch of journalists question about good performances of our player and wins but keeps silent of the non - performing ones hailed as heroes. I’m with Mickey here.

Good response. Deserved the treatment. Sounds to me like the same journo that asked Rohit sharma ā€œWhat can he suggest on how to improve the Pakistan batting crisisā€ :vk2 how on earth some of these idiots gotta chance to go up there hold the mic in front of the players and coaches:steyn

The question was stupid, but he could have and should have handled it better. The ā€œwhy don’t you write something positive about usā€ was pointless.

Your team is ranked 6th and you have been playing like an associate team for two years. Why on earth should people write positive things about you?

Haris obviously played well but I see where the journalist is coming from.

Haris looks to be one of the most unfit players in the team. He really needs to work hard on his fitness. Our players need meal plan guidance from a dietician and a lot of them need to be working with a trainer to get in shape. Just look at Kohli's transformation in the last 10 years.

I was thinking that too.....re the comment/question echoing the PP wrist slitters

Theres a time and a place for such questions Its not a time and a place when the guy has smashed 89 runs in no time

I might be going against the flow here but I think it was a valid point raised by the journalist. Yes it was an outstanding knock and no doubt about Haris’ ability but he did look bit exhausted and needs to work on his fitness just like Imad and Sarfaraz.

Yes at the moment we are in mesmerized state after that extraordinary innings played by a Pakistani middle order batsmen but he does need to work more on his fitness. Yes I know he was injured for a longtime and has improved his overall fitness considerably but still there is much more room and that would only make him a better player.

Regarding Haris. His knee is still not 100% right and Mickey mentioned it at the press conference indirectly too.

PCB have not sorted the knee out, just like they didn't last time.

Any injury update regarding Shaheen Shah Afridi?

I’ve heard he is carrying a tennis elbow.

Why cant they consult few doctors in UK just like they did in the case of Amir and Shadab?

Also as Mueez have mentioned one of the posters also said that he had the opportunity to talk with Shaheen Shah in UK and Shaheen mentioned he has had a pain in his left elbow for quite a time now. We can also see him wearing strapping on his left elbow in every match.

If its really tennis elbow he shouldnt be bowling at all if I am not wrong as it can cause a long term damage to tendons. Yes we are not sure what exactly it is but there is a chance his elbow isnt 100%.

Yeah and he has been wearing this for a long time if I remember correctly.

I think we saw him wearing it for the first time during the SA series when many posters thought he had a ā€˜tattoo’.

True. It was a lean patch then, now he is wearing multiple things.

I personally have knee issues, not that I am playing at that level :) but knee issues are something that are very hard to fix, specially if its chronic nature. Both Amir and Harris had them unfortunately, we have to live with it and mange their work load accordingly. Don't expect them to be best fielder and most fit member of the team.

Muscles issues are addressable and can be improved significantly with rigorous training program but not joints related issues. Strac and Wood had Ankle issues, that limit their growth. Clark had back issues, Harris has knee issues for 4/5 years now, we have wrong expectation. Amir chronic knee issues were discussed at length (you know probably lot more than us :) ) last English summer, that limit his growth unfortunately...

I can come up with 10s of example of how knee/ankle/shoulder joint issues curtail or ended the career of sportsmen in all sports, regardless of how much money those teams and players had...

He has a team in the middle of the World Cup with slim chances of going onto the next stage. He needs to stand up for his players who are not in a good place anyway. This was absolutely the right response from a Head Coach. Not all responses are for the media and fans. Sometimes it is a message to the team, telling them he has their back. Just go out and play. This is the WC, 6th ranking doesn't mean a hoot.
