Pakistan: A 70-year-old Haji Abdul Majeed Mengal’s family has been registered in the population census, making it one of the largest families in the Noshki district of Balochistan.

The population team discovered Majeed’s family which consist of 42 children. He had 54 children from six wives, 12 of whom have died. Two of his wives have also died, leaving four of them with him.

Out of 42 children, twenty-two is sons while 20 are the daughters. This also includes a newborn baby boy. Majeed, who is also a grandfather, works as a driver. He married twice again after two of his first four wives passed away.

Similarly, another family of Jan Muhammad is also waiting for the census staff to register his big family. Muhammad resident of Quetta works as a medical practitioner and a part-time businessman is a father of 36 children, from his three wives. His eldest child is 17-year-old.

It does.... he won't have one wife for all those kids. His multiple wives would be expecting at the same time.

Disgusting. Do people like him even think about their Children's future? I bet most of them won't even get decent education.

oh missed the 3 wives part
but still its some effort.....

Goes on to speak of why overpopulation is such a problem in Pakistan. - It's all fun and games until you have to feed these children, provide them with an education and God forbid if one of them gets sick, medical support.

Even though a One-child policy is needed, I'm not suggesting one considering how religious fanaticism plays a big role in Pakistan and people will behead you for even proposing one. But, there needs to be some sort of a limit. Perhaps 4 children. With a gap of at least 3 years. And polygamy needs to be abolished.

However, I don't see any of this happening as we're already deep into the problem of overpopulation only for it to make the last move and push us into the stone age.

Polygamy needs to banned? Seems slightly invasive don't you think? Countries that don't have official polygamous marriage recognition still practice something akin to it. Usually more western countries are serially monogamous with no official legal recognition. I fail to see how banning polygamy would solve anything related to population. At least with polygamy, multiple partners have legal rights.

stupid stuff..

Nothing to feel proud off, if this guy isn't able to support his kid then whats the point?
