Much ado about nothing or something fishy?

From Sri Lanka Cricket:

The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket decided today (November 23) to
invite Mr. Alex Marshall, the General Manager of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit, to Sri Lanka to investigate recent allegations of match fixing made by a parliamentarian regarding the Pakistan Tour earlier this year.

Sri Lanka Cricket, as a full member of the ICC and mandated to uphold the integrity of the game at both the national and international level, believes that it is the correct course of action to take in light of the recent allegations made by the aforementioned parliamentarian, which have caused immense reputational damage to Sri Lanka Cricket and its stakeholders.

If I remember correctly, Al-Jazeera documentary showed Galle pitch curator was involved in fixing.

I think Galle should be banned from hosting international cricket (if allegation is true this time).

As per sources:

SL parliamentarian has accused HIS side of deliberately losing the first Test. As such, this allegation revolves around the SL cricket team and has NOTHING to do with the Pakistan cricket team or the PCB. (SL won the second Test, so the match-fixing allegation by the SL parliamentarian cannot be about the second Test).

Also, all international matches are played under ICC rules and regulations, including Anti-corruption code. Each match is attended by the ICC anti-corruption officer. To date, the PCB has not been contacted or approached by the ICC ACU. And rightly so, Pakistan won the first Test, so there cannot be any concerns, at least, against the winning side!.

The confusion has been created due to a vague media release, issued by the SLC. But just to REITERATE, the SLC has invited Alex Marshall for an independent enquiry after their parliamentarian accused HIS OWN side of deliberately losing the first Test.

Only yesterday I was thinking about the times when Pakistan, whether they would win or lose, people would only talk about how the match was fixed.

It took over a a decade for this to die down and cricket is about cricket now.

Whether Pakistan has anything to do with this or not, this comes as a very sour taste in the mouth.

This has nothing to do with Pakistan.

Its Sri Lanka and its parliament involved.

Next match Babar lost quite poorly so let's rule nothing out

This is match fixing not spot fixing. Unless there is proof that Pakistan team was involved there is no point speculating.

The allegations are being made against Sri Lanka not Pakistan. Now i hope our own media and fans act properly and dont start accusing our own players

You think our fans are smart enough to not do that?
