"Following Pakistan cricket may damage your lungs and liver"

It hurts, isn't it. A team wins 10 out of 12 session a test match and yet end up on the wrong side of "Biryani" is difficult to fathom.

In the end it wasn't about playing two batsmen short (Don't confuse it with likable blokes growing old) or those trademark "Cycle stand" batting collapse or even the inexperience of few bowlers in the line up nor did Pakistan shell any catch.

At 115/5 England was on the mat and gasping for fresh air, Pakistan should have been all over it like a rash but Pakistan chose this moment to "Redeem" themselves They say "Test Cricket will not only test your skills but also your character"

It was of course fully expected that Butler will come out throwing Punches and Pakistan overcrowded support staff would have worked on it, given the ammo and a very helpful surface. However our Worst fears come true the moment Butler and Woakes made their intention clear.

We can argue whether it was "Intention" or "Desperation" but there is hardly any argument that Misbah "Think-tank" Panicked like a headless chicken and ran away from the fight in about good ten minutes of the counter attack. Three over's is all it took for a rattled Pakistan Captain to wave white flag and retreat.

Pakistan had good bowlers an excellent keeper, fielders doing a great job but when they really needed leadership and Inspiration They were left to die of humiliation before being actually defeated.

I wonder, what will be thoughts of Mr.Imran about the "White Flag" field placement hell, How I missed good old Sarfaraz whose "Gravity kissing" crouch hurts me no end.

Cricket is a very simple game if you keep our eyes and ear open. Just what line did English bowler bowled in 3rd innings forget that just count number of wickets fell to LBW and bowled in Previous West indies Vs England series and its obvious that you need to attack the stumps but Pakistan went on bowling that fifth stump line so mechanically that I gave up eating Toasts.

Many like me also wondered total lack of bouncers in the 2nd inning itself and where does it all point to? Misbah, what do you intend to turn our attack into? bowling machines.

My heart really goes out for all the youngsters in the team who put a lion hearted effort to bring Pakistan into winning equation.

We all have been waiting for Yasir to get into his strides, Rizwan is world best keeper by miles. Abbas seems to have found his mojo, both Young Pacers have impressed they surely need betters hands to look after them. Shahdab gave all he could but It was really Shan Masood who has taken rapid strides towards something very special in a matter of an innings

There is so much Pakistan has gained from this test so glass is only half empty. I would remember this Great Test match for its two Crucial Match turning innings both came at a fall of 5 wickets. First When Shahdab Walked in with Pakistan at 176 for 5.

He came and threw few punches and England sprung Monk Masood into a Rockstar and shaped Pakistan first inning to a very health 326 which could have fizzled into an average 240 or something.

The final chapter was written still at the fall of 5th wicket when England were all but done and dusted and Butler chose to throw few punches. I am pretty sure how he would be laughing within as even he might not have as much belief in England Victory as much Ali had in Pakistan defeat.

Shame isn't it, funny what fear can do to you

I thought wins against SL and Ban would have put back the joy of winning in our players' lives so that they would yearn for more!

Hope this defeat hasnt dented their confidence.

Dont know about confidence but it will certainly hurt them bad. I wonder what a win could have done to their confidence.

To be fair, England are a tough team at home. I don't think there is any team in the world that can win a Test series in England currently.

Even Aussies had to go back with 2-2 draw.

That does not excuse the fact we lost in a winning position.

A full strength Australia will beat the current England in England 9 out of 10 times.

They were extremely fortunate that Tim Paine lost his mind with the reviews and Nathan Lyon fumbled a dolly runout chance or else.....

I meant series. No team has won a series in England in many years. Check stats.

Aussies haven't won a series in England since 2001. Even Ricky Ponting's Australia couldn't win in England.

India lost 1-4 last time they were here.

NZ? LOL.

I think Aussies can't beat England in England. Broad should be too good for them.

When was the last time Australia won a series in England?

If I remember correctly, last team to beat England in England was South Africa. That was many years ago.

No doubt about that and that's what makes this loss so hard to bear. Pakistan managed to dominate Fancied england in 10 sessions
And then just fizzled out.

Misbah has to answer what inspired him to make Azhar ali captain when he was strggling to hold his feets and bat.

You can take a loss not an abject surrender

You'd have thought Misbah would have learned after recommending and helping him gain the ODI captaincy. We all know how that panned out.

I'm not a hater but Misbah doesn't half bring it upon himself with these brainless decisions.

nah sorry
logical fallacy. You have no idea how reality would have panned out had that run out happened. Australia won the next game
Overall 2-2 was the fair result. Australia maybe ever so teeny weeny bit the better side, but its not a series anyone is going to look back at and say 'australia should have won'

I really sometime wonder aloud whether Misbah goes through bouts of schizophernia.

He is ready to trust youngters like Naseem and Shaheen to lead the attack and when it comes to batting he is ready to drag any oldie from his grave.

I have this theory. I think the reason why Misbah doesn't like young batsmen is because he himself was selected at an old age. He probably has a deep bias because of that.

It is like how an abused child grows up to be similarly abusive.

Even there is a flaw, Naseem and Shaheen are barely out school while he favours these 35+ year olds. There's just no balance there.

Seems like he throws in these Musa and Naseem (not saying they're bad) types just so he can say he's giving youngsters a chance. I can see right through his scams.

Could be taking revenge. The thing is playing all these budday doesn't suit a team like Pakistan because they're never going to be the most athletic and fittest team around compared to the likes Eng, SA and Aus. Even Ind have improved a lot on this regard and they got rid of a lot of their oldies.

It should be “Azhar Ali’s Pakistan”, not “Misbah’s Pakistan”.

But even the most bipartisan supporter knows who runs the show.

Can't rule that out. Misbah turning into vigilante searching for justice to all those who
according to him were dished out injustice. I mean really Imran Sr. Sohail khan etc.
which other country in the world would pick up pacers of that age?

someone has to really look into baffling selection going around.

Those Aussies aren’t so crash hot. England would have beaten them if Anderson hadn’t gone out of the series after four overs.
