Most of the modern innovative strokeplay has been from the international players. Duplessis played a Dilscoop of Irfan for six the other day. Hales played a Helicopter shot to a fully pitched up 136 km/hr delivery from Aamir Yamin. ABD in a PSL season played a reverse sweep of a full blooded Junaid Khan full toss for six in a prior PSL season. All the outside the offstump full blooded Yorkers by the likes of Wahab, Amir have been easily played away for 4 by Hales.

The only player who has come close to playing some level of international class quality strokeplay has been by Rizwan who has played that upper glide over the keepers head and even to the right of the keeper of a full bouncer. Haider Ali's winning six against Multan Sultan of a 144 km/hr Dhani yorker on the offside was international class, Hafeez's sixes over the offside in that knock against Quetta Gladiators was international class but overall the hitting ranges of most of the local Pakistani and International Pakistani players have been very predictable i.e. deep midwicket, cross bat shots.

Compare this to the IPL where players are pressurized to develop different shots i.e. Dhoni's Helicopter shots to a full 147 km/hr blooded Malinga yorker, Indian batsmen playing the reverse glide, reverse flick to a full blooded off stump yorker.

Do Pakistani players even bother to practice these things in the nets? Do our local coaches even have a basic understanding and idea of how the modern ODI and T-20 game has been played?

I saw more innovative stroke play in the National T-20 players from the local players than in the current PSL tournament so far.

Hussain Talat, Rohail Nazir, and Mohammad Haris are the only young Pakistani batsmen who can play these modern shots. Waseem Jr can also ramp a little bit.

No one else comes to mind. Note how 3 of those 4 play for Islamabad. Hopefully Haris and Rohail get a chance for Peshawar and Islamabad this season.

Pakistani batsmen have been great with inside edges for four. I think this is an art that has been mastered by our Batsmen only

Sharjeel did this brilliantly today...turned a decent over from Sohail Khan into a nightmare...
