Looked ok, everyone knows he is an atg in friendly conditions.
Where are the friendly conditions? The pitch is flat. He's cutting and swinging the new ball.
Is he playing till end of season?
Must be a nice change for him to play for a team who can catch. (7 of 10 wkts were caught)
As per Essex schedule, their last match continues till 28th September, which Amir will not be able to play because the series with Sri Lanka starts in the end week of September with a Day Night Test. Also PCB will most probably call him 1 week before the series, so he might miss the 2nd last game too.
I mean he didn't really set the world alight in the champions trophy so this kind of makes up for it I guess....
lol..I cant believe that you think hafeez will take 3 out of 7 catches...I say 2 out of 7 is a more safer bet..just add Hafeez to the team and put him in slips, the catches will reduce from 7 to 3

No it doesn't.
This is a 4 day county game while one day international cricket is a different ball game. How can one format make up for the other ?
He bowled well in the champions trophy without always getting the rewards but he got the just rewards in the final when the team needed it - that's what he will be remembered for and his doubters should leave that to rest.
As for his Test bowling he's not at the 2010 stage yet but he's getting there slowly with these performances at County cricket that will only make him a better bowler at the longer format.
I was chatting with a Yorkshire media guy who has covered Yorkshire matches for many many years. He said that Amir's performance against Yorkshire at Scarborough where he took 10 wickets in the match was one of the best he had ever seen.

AMIR TO RETURN TO PAKISTAN FOR FITNESS AND MEDICAL TESTS
Essex Cricket overseas star Mohammad Amir will return to Pakistan tomorrow for a series of fitness and medical tests at the request of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The Pakistan International will still be involved in this evening’s NatWest T20 Blast clash against Sussex Sharks as the Eagles hunt for a quarter-final place.
Amir is scheduled to return to England on Saturday 26 August in time for the crucial Specsavers County Championship game against Somerset at The Cloudfm County Ground.

So according to this, Amir will only return to Pakistan for fitness tests but won't play in the National T20 Cup...? I do hope it's true.
There are reports that the 1st leg of National Cup T20 has been rescheduled aftrr the World XI tour.
I know but I haven't heard anything concrete yet. Rather confusing. There's just a week left for the scheduled start so if there will be any changes to the schedule then PCB need to announce it ASAP.
It wouldn't be the PCB if things went smoothly. Just as I was starting to think all was calm at the PCB, we have (i) the fiasco of recalling all the players for a tournament scheduled at the last minute and (ii) Umar Akmal's theatrics.
I have to admit the relative period of calm was somewhat disconcerting- good to see normal business resume.![]()
Lol Amir had a real go at a fielder for dropping a catch cos he wasn't wearing sun glasses and then he drops one himself not wearing them
Amir is probably injured or has twisted his ankle, as he only bowled 2 overs today with one of them bringing him 2 wickets. 2-22 in the 1st innings.
Mohammad Amir is suffering from Back Spasm and Essex Cricket have reported that he will not take part any further in this match.
Injury waiting to happen I'm afraid given the amount of cricket he has been playing. The PCB should have allowed him to play until middle of August and a specific number of matches for Essex.
He had back spasms in the CT but recovered quickly and was full steam ahead in the final. Hopefully it's the same this time.
Hope so, but a long term back injury seems to be around the corner if better management of his game time is not actioned.
Just spoke to a source close to Amir who says that today's injury is not serious and was down to fatigue.
Lancashire v Essex (2nd v 1st) – Lancs closed the gap slightly in the last round with their home win against Warwickshire, but Essex ensured it remains a commanding 36 points by skittling Somerset to extend their winning run to five matches. They were not expected to have Mohammad Amir available, but he has been included in a 14-man squad. Essex have a poor recent record against Lancashire, with seven defeats in 15 Championship matches since their last win against them, in 1997. The previous meeting this season, Essex’s first back in Division One back in April, was drawn. Essex have the two leading wicket-takers in Division One in Simon Harmer (53) and Jamie Porter (52).
