You can’t be serious man. While amir is doing ok without setting the world on fire he’s far from the leader of the attack. This attack is leaderless with everybody throwing the ball anywhich way they want. Had amir been a leader they would have stopped huffing and puffing and just bowled a decent line and length letting the pitch do the rest.
Leader is the one who's the best in the attack, the most experienced usually as well. So, he's the leader of the Pak attack.
Yes, not the best bowler in the world right now.
Once Abbas comes back, I think he will be back to taking wickets since the former can tie the batsman down.
He was the best bowler in this Test match since the other two were too wayward at times in length.
I thought Amir bowled quite close to the stumps this match. The number of times he beat Elgar and Amla, in the second innings only, he was very unlucky to not get the edge. His length needs to be just adjusted, as his line for me was perfect for this wicket. He over-compensated for the length, by adjusting his line a few times.
Other than that, he was head and shoulders above both Hasan and Shaheen in this test. Abbas is on another level to Amir though, with impeccable use of the seam.
That is true.
Thank you for the balanced posts.

It's laughable to see people hating on our best bowler in this Test match.

As for Abbas, people are kind of getting carried away by his 'new on the stage' exploits.
I've maintained that for now he's good, but teams hadn't seen him much, he was under the radar and there was no proper preparation against him.
There's one team that did prepare against him - NZ - and he went wicketless in the entire freakin series.
Of course, in SA, he will get the most helpful pitches as he can dream of, so theoretically he should get wickets from the seaming surfaces. Run through the SA side. If he doesn't, I'll be shocked.
But the thing with him is, we need a bigger sample size to term him as the leader.
Need to see how he'll react now that teams will focus on countering him. Can he counter-counter? So far he can seam the ball one way.
