Cost us about 10-15 runs, but he can't buy a wicket either.

Bowled well today and no one targeted him as well, but when it was time to stand up and be counted he left.... who knos may have been tonked for 50 odd in the last 2 overs, bad attitude for someone who is always under scanner

To be honest, in today's modern era you need both economy and wickets, if you cant get wickets then at least be economical. The problem with Pakistani bowlers is that in search of wickets, they concede too many runs whereas the other teams know how to get wickets while keeping things tight as well. If anything it is our bowlers who need to find a way to keep things extremely tight and to minimize the damage if they can't get wickets.

Never seen a bowler go off due to cramps, usually they just stretch it out. Are they sure it was a cramp.

I have seen this a couple of times before...injured before the slog overs.Yes economy wise best bowler from Pak side but then again Hassan and Imad had good figures too initially.

Either he needs to work on his fitness or there is something else going on

if it was knee injury he wouldn't have been able to walk back to pavilion

The problem is, he is a good bowler, but only as a supporting cast to a proper strike bowler. He is not what people thought he is, and will not become what they think he will, and he should not be the flagship bowler. However, we are scraping the bottom of the barrel at the moment in terms of resources.

His inability to take wicket consistently is concerning. and that reduce him to just an ordinary bowler.

Yes, he is mostly economical, which means he will be a good partner for someone like Rabada, Starc or Boult, but if you are banking on him to provide the breakthroughs, he will disappoint you.

I believe it was a cramp - he should be fit to bat according to CricInfo

Oh and it was a calf cramp...try getting one of those and try to run after that. Seriously do people actually think before they comment

He didn't chicken out, he is not Akhtar.

He was cramped.

www787 you were spot on :)

Wahab should announce retirement from ODIs and focus only in T20s.

He should only play test when it is needed for him ... apart from that he is totally useless and this is something selectors should have realised already.

They need Amir back, but the longer Wahab is injured, the better.

He cant take a wicket on his own (lbw, bowled, caught behind) to save his life.

Mohd Amir injury update?

Is there any update on his injury ? Will he play next match?

Wahab enjoys going for runs doesn't give a monkeys if teams belt him for 100 or 150 remember Trent bridge where he basically wrote a letter to Morgan and Buttler asking them to absaloutly spank him he gave them short 120 kph lollipops and even when he got Buttler out it was a No ball maybe he wanted to set a record for himself the most runs given by a bowler in a completed 10 over spell wahab would be really proud of himself even tell his children

Yeah he has broken so many new records in ODI's,few more games of Wahab and we might even see him go for 140 in 10 overs, mind you only he is capable of beating his past records.:wahab

I met Wahab Riaz training his legs at Bannantynes gym the last 3/4 days before the match. He had his hamstring in a bandage. Nice guy and was trying hard training. Maybe he was working bowling through pain?
