What's new

"Mohammad Asif reincarnated" : Ian Bishop on Mohammad Abbas

He meant that one delivery, and yes that was

but Abbas is no Asif, and expecting for him to be one is unfair.

At the same age Asif was one of the best bowlers in the world and would have been of his way to ATG status

Do you agree?
Saj called it:

First impressions in international cricket - Mohammad Abbas
Bowls good lines and lengths. Nice smooth and easy action.
Excellent seam position and it's clear to see why he has taken lots of wickets in domestic cricket.
A little bit of Mohammad Asif in his bowling in terms of the probing line and length he is bowling.

Little bit sounds about right. Asif could land six balls like that in a row. Would have Pietersen in a tangle after an over.

Lol lik seriously?

Bishop loves fast bowlers it isn't a hidden fact as he was one himself and his first impressions of Abbas and Hassan are a little too extravagant especially when they're just new in the arena.

He compared him on that one delivery which was truly Asifesque. But Asif was special especially with those wrists. Can't see Abbas ever being as good.

PP experts were crucifying him in the last match for lack of pace. For them a bowler should be like Wahab Riaz, get smashed to all parts but atleast bowl 145 kph.

I'd even take a 120kph dibbly dobbler if he manages to pick up wickets over someone like aggressive Wahab.

Was Asif a beast in his second Test Match?

Give the youngster a chance

I watched the first 8-10 overs of today's match and Abbas seemed like an average bowler.. Amir on the other hand was bowling superbly..

Can we all calm down please?

Asif was not a merely great bowler.

He was magic.
