I find both bowlers very similar in terms of pace, line and length on or around off stump, Walsh would get more bounce than Asif but one thing Asif can take a leaf from Walsh's career was his remarkable longevity and the fact he was able to play up to the age of 40 and Asif who hasn't had anywhere near the same workload can take inspiration and have the same goal to play for that long for his country.

Asif could have matched or surpassed Walsh, but a comparison between a 20 Test player and a 130 Test player cannot be established.

Asif had immense ability and was a genius with the ball, so he could have surpassed a lot of big names had he managed to play 100 Tests.

Walsh is twice the bowler Asif is but I understand what your trying to say.

Walsh is a clear winner and an ATG.

Asif was a genius too and could have achieved so much. He made the likes of KP, ABD and Cook struggle against him.

Well that's the second guy he can get inspiration from after Nelson Mandela :))

Asif vs slice bread would have been a closer contest...no way in hell is Asif losing out to a mere mortal.

Having said that I would like to award this to Walsh as a charity given the nature of the uneven contest

20 tests bowlers should not be compared with bowlers like Walsh.

Asif had ATG skill.

BUT the sample size isn't there.

I feel he would have passed Walsh if he played 100 tests.
