He called it a day 2 years too late in test matches and selectors denied someone new a chance to fail/perform in two home series. Upcoming series is in South Africa and then their is world cup next year and everyone and his dog knows that hafeez is going to fail. Give said shakeel and saad Ali chances to perform/fail in the upcoming series. T20 is the only format where he can play and frankly winning t20s don't mean jack.

Question is which hitters do we have who are better than him?

The problem is he finds a way of getting what he wants and the captain + management bow down to his demands of batting up the order.

I'm 50/50 with his place in the ODI side but if Asif Ali cannot establish himself in time for the WC, I fear we have no choice but to have him batting at 6/7.

Not going to happen after the Asia Cup humiliation. Both him and Malik will retire from ODIs after the World Cup on their terms. Besides, I do not think you can complain about his selection when you ave Buttler getting an uninterrupted run. Hafeez is ten times better than him any day.

Hafeez is actually pretty decent when batting in the middle order at 5 or 6. Unfortunately his ego doesn't allow it and Pak suffers.

May I ask who is this Buttler that you are speaking off? I didn't know there was one playing for Pakistan?

One of our friends here got overexcited after Asif hit a couple of sixes and compared him to Buttler. The moniker has stuck since.

The most shameful exit by any Pakistani cricketer I've ever witnessed in my life. Every person on social media is cursing him.

One of the most insecure players who took maximum advantage of Pakistan's slump in the middle years. Still remember he remained opener between 2003 and 2008 averaging 18-19.5 in odis. Still kept his job as Inzamam was captain at that time also.
